PB: Yamada Ryosuke
Who's that boy? No, the one over there that looks sort of happy, that's always smiling despite whatever he's going through. I don't think I've seen him frown once.
K'er is most notable for his face, or that's what he's been told before by his parents. Of course, his parents could always just be trying to make him happy, but he definitely takes their word for it. It's rounded slightly, making him look young and childish in that "baby-faced" way. In fact, despite for the arches of his cheekbones, he would have what some Harpers might call a perfect circle for a head. The cheekbones however pull up his features, sending them in slight angles at the last moment and lengthening his face into a small, but straight, nose and arching eye-brows over dark brown eyes that are almost black.
The second thing most people notice about K'er is how the dark hair on his head, cut into a messy and semi-long style, starkly contrasts against his porcelain skin. It's incredibly fair, holding only the slightest tinge of pinks and yellows to make him seem alive instead of dead. He's even been mistaken for a handler at times because of his complexion, but he always just gives them a polite shake of his head.
That's something too, the boy seldom uses his voice, and his lips, a light dusty rose hue, hardly part past the little half-smile they seem fixed in. When they do, the movement is usually big and wide, showing teeth and mouth in a joyous smile or laugh. The rest of the time his voice is quiet, barely audible unless he is not being talked over or someone leans in to hear him.
As far as his body type goes, K'er is slight of weight and build. He's structured more like a runner, only coming to 5ft 5inches and has little muscle. What is there has only been gained since he started weyrling training, and even that is a small amount. Unfortunately, and much to his embarrassment, K'er is even weaker than most of the girls in his class despite some living cushioned lives in the Holds. His limbs, twiggy as they may be, are often clad in matted hues, brown and gray being the most common with little pops of blue or green. He seldom wears eye-catching colors though like reds or purple; comfort is most definitely more important to him than appearance as well.
Personality
K'er couldn't hurt a fly if he wanted to, honestly he's just to sweet and gentle to ever even try. It's something that tends to dictate almost everything he does, and the weyrling is perfectly fine with it. There is no greater pleasantry than seeing someone smile because of you, or that's what K'er always tells others when they ask. He just likes to make people happy, and he often is the easily manipulated fellow in the group because of it.
Because K'er hates fighting of any kind as well, whether it is verbal or physical it doesn't matter, it surprises people that he's part of The Rebellion generally upon meeting him. After all, most of the rebels are people that are darker, and most definitely scarier. The poor thing sticks out like a sore thumb, or at least that's the way K'er sees it. However, it is unlikely that this sort of behavior will ever change.
Mostly, it won't change because any time something like an argument, fight, or even something slightly abnormal to his normal day occurs K'er becomes quite unsettled. It tends to make him curl up inward to himself, and yes has even had him rocking in a fetal position in the corner a time or two depending on how difficult the situation became. Needless to say, the boy doesn't do well with pressure or nerves, and Faranth help anyone that tries to befriend or catch his heart.
For all his fears and unease, K'er does wish he could be better, faster, smarter, just improved in every way possible. He is extremely critical of himself and hardly ever allows the common rounds of critiquing to ever let up or be skipped over. Any time he finishes a new lesson or drill or task the boy has to mentally tell himself exactly what he's done wrong. Of course this can be good in that it helps him improve, but it always has him wishing that he could do something about his inability to be perfect.
The odd thing however, is that this perfection was pushed by his parents not K'er and has just been so implemented into his personality that it is automatic. The truth is that when K'er comes across something perfect, again something not someone, he has to make it imperfect. Whether this is a row of sticks the same size and he has to break off one, or a stack of papers that he has to topple over, the perfection of objects is something he feels like he can change and helps him because he is yet unable to beat the need for perfection in himself.

History
Childhood:
To start with K'er, it's probably best to talk about his parents. If there had ever been rider blood in the boy's veins it would have come from his father's side most likely. Aylen was weyrborn, though he never did impress. Kivera however was from a nearby village hold and had come to Bay Weyr in order to learn a craft. The girl quickly found little time to actually learn one however when she suddenly found herself pregnant a few months after a Gold rose and a young Bronzerider found her wandering the hallways confused.
The baby didn't come to term however, and the rider was kind enough to stick around for a while and even introduce the girl to his friend Aylen. Neither of K'er's parents had thought true love existed, but neither had met the other one until that moment. The two quickly fell for each other, and a turn later they were officially married, Kivera's parents back at home pushing for it to be "official." Not a full month later, she was pregnant again, and this time it came to term and she gave birth to a boy named Kyler.
Kyler had always been a quiet one, even from the time he was an infant. He rarely gave his parents trouble with whining like some babes did, and he was always often the one that the creche workers would gladly look after. It was an uneventful life he held, not one to go out searching for adventure like the other children. This isn't to say that Kyler didn't have his moments though, they were just closer to home and generally consisted of helping the drudges and riders around him.
No one was surprised when his parents asked for one or two of the riders to let their dragon truly observe him. Since he had no rider blood in his veins as far as they could remember, they wanted to make sure that the boy had a chance before putting him out on the sands. The dragons came back with the consensus that he would be a fine choice, and so Kyler went out of his weyrbrat status and started to train with the other youngsters that had taken the oh-so-coveted position of candidate.

Candidacy:
He was only 13 at the time, and though the boy was quiet about it, he did come with a basketful of hopes of impressing early. You see, because he was so pulled away from the other candidates, Kyler was often chosen as the one to be picked on. He was called names, he was picked out as the "Tiny Trundlebug" that would never get to impress, and despite how hard he tried to hold onto his hopes, it started to get to him. First it was one hatching that he was left, then another, and another until two full turns had passed and he was 15.
Thinking that their son had been misplaced into candidacy, Kyler's parents pushed him harder, thinking that if he had any chance at all it would be through being the best of the candidates to choose from. The constant pressures coming from them, matched with the teasing of the other candidates turned the need for perfection from an entirely extrinsic motivator into one that was partially intrinsic and coming from Kyler himself. He would no longer be okay with just adequate or good, he had to do everything perfectly, other wise his parents would see him as a disgrace. Eventually, his parents discovered this change and stopped being so hypercritical, however the behavior continued.
In an attempt to make him happier, the few friends he did have pulled together to buy him a pet. Except by pull together, I mean that the dysfunctional trio ended up buying him each an egg themselves. They were Huntyre eggs, and Kyler took them all instead of leaving one to maybe find a home elsewhere where they could be mistreated or unloved. The Candidatemaster and assistants weren't all too happy about the boy showing up with three fuzzy chicks, but since he had failed to impress so many times they just looked the other way thinking he would never end up walking off the sands with a lifemate.
That all changed though later that Spring of 202. It was a Queen's clutch, the Senior Queen to be exact, and the candidates filed in to wait for the results to turn out. Kyler ended up near a girl with blonde hair, someone he thought was named Eiko but wouldn't truly get to know until much later. Together, the candidates looked out toward the eggs as the first started to hatch. One by one Kyler watched the egg-wet dragonets slip from their shells, impress, and walk off with someone other than himself.

Impression:
At the hatching of Bay Weyr's first Sub-Queen, Kyler was amazed to see it coming his way, and then clapped happily enough when it went to Eiko instead. He had begun to give up hope, and was starting to just decide to quite trying entirely. There were other things like weaving that he could continue to pursue, he had even already started training bit by bit as an apprentice of sorts.
........Oh COME ON! You can't mean that I've messed up already K'erMineLove. I mean, you Kinurninth has only been hatched for like, what, ten minutes? Don't you want me? Am I not good enough?
Kyler-no-K'er shook his head absentmindedly and put his hand against the little Amethyst's neck, touching the sticky hide in amazement. He had impressed. He really had actually impressed! Smiling from ear-to-ear, he led the little dragonet off the sands and held out a bucket proudly. Oh Mine I'm so hungry, so, so hungry! Why won't you feed me....wait....you mean that's supposed to be food? Oh...OH! Okay!

Weyrlinghood:
It was like that for much of his younger days in Weyrlinghood, that is until just a season ago. The Weyrwoman of Bay Weyr had started to send a few of the newly impressed dragonets and riders that were the "Other" colors to the rebellion. It was for safety, or that's what everyone told K'er. They sent Eiko and her Obsidian Nimarath first, and then a group of three or four after. K'er was among that second group, and he heard that the Weyr had sent even more after, or had transferred them to other Weyrs that would take them.
His question though, why would Bay Weyr want to rid themselves so quickly of the dragonets like Kinurninth and Nimarath when they were so loving toward them before? K'er would look into it, except with The Rebellion fighting Thread under-winged currently he has bigger problems to fry...literally.

Pet:
Name Noir
Pronunciation New-our
Age 1 turn
Type Huntyre
Rank Nightshade
Size 1.7 feet
Color Codes
Black/Gray- 52565c 1f2123 0c0d0e
Greens- 64b581 489563 336846
Personality/Appearance
Noir is in short, prideful. He's arrogant, he thinks that everything goes around him, and the Huntyre is convinced that there is nothing better in all of Pern than just being lucky enough to be in his presence. Is it the best idea to go around thinking your more important than Faranth? No, probably not, but beside his pride there isn't much going up there in that little head of his. Really he is just a simple minded, bird-brain.
Covered in dark plumes that go between a matted gray and an ebony, Noir is as shadowy as his name suggests. The only color on him is in bands of mint and jade green that pop against the darker hues in a contrast that make them seem to almost glow. In reality it's just nature's highlights at work though. His crest and two trailing plumes are also mixed with these two greens, and he's on the larger end of his color's size spectrum with a wide wing-spread.
Name Kele
Pronunciation Keh-L
Age 1 turn
Type Huntyre
Rank Sunset
Size 1 foot
Color Codes
Flames- f9f5ae cd9c78 ffc20e f0e739 e74b01 e20532 b8303a
Personality/Appearance
If Noir is Prideful, Kele is the exact opposite. She's reserved, patient, calm, and most of all she is humble. Unlike some females that will parade around and try to catch attention, or others that will lash out at anyone they find as competition, Kele seems to just be immune to all that. She lets it slide right off of her and doesn't really care all that much about whether or not she is the most coveted female in the group. She just wants to be a part of the group.
Made from a cacophony of everything from pale tan to bright, eye catching yellows, burnt oranges, and fiery reds, Kele is not just a simple one trick object. She's complex in her features, and if one were to describe every little change in tint or shade as it ticks across her plumage, they'd be here for a very long time. Mostly it crosses in different bands and chunks, mixing with the colors that touch it at the outer edges. When it comes to her build, she's small of stature and of wing with the sort of body that's built for graceful turns more than long flights.
Name Silver
Pronunciation as it looks
Age 1 turn
Type Huntyre
Rank Lunar
Size 9 inches
Color Codes
Ice- e7f1f1 dbe9ea bed6d8 a9c9cb 447275 2e4e50
Personality/Appearance
Silver is different from his two clutchmates. He's not full of himself like Noir is, and he's not the passive little thing that Kele is either. What Silver happens to be, is the goofball of the trio. He likes to make people laugh, and he will do just about anything to get a response. In fact, he's been known to do everything from stealing items to putting on shows. Besides this he tends to just let matters slide right off him, choosing to ignore an issue rather than face it.
Rightfully named for his coloring, Silver is a mix of bluish gray and silvery white. It crosses his body in different patterns, getting lighter on his underside and darker on his back and out to the underside of his wings. He's not too showy other than that, and he's fairly small for his color. What Silver lacks in hue and build though, he makes up for in wings. He has the wings meant for a smaller Rainbow of Nightshade, and is a steady flier in the air, capable of outlasting most his size.
Dragon
Name Kinurninth
Pronunciation *Kin-er-ninth*
Age 10 months
Type dragon
Rank Amethyst
Size 15.8 feet
Color Codes
Body: 634563
Appearance
There isn't much to Kinurninth to be honest. She's tiny, smaller than most Amethysts by only a small amount, but even then it's rare enough as is to find one of those purple or pink fighters below 17 feet. To top that off though, she has loner legs with a smaller torso so it gives her a newborn runnerbeast sort of look. Likewise, her tail and neck are longer than normal as well, but her wings have somehow managed to stay proportioned to her length.
Her hide isn't too much to look at either; a delicate shade of plum that isn't as dark as it could be, but has a dusty, silver shine to it almost as if someone shook powder all over her. It is fairly even from nose to tail-tip, wing sail to paw, and only changes the slightest amounts.
Personality
Spastic, Can't focus worth anything, always looking for the "next big thing", likes to sing and "perform"
How to explain Kinurninth. Spastic, would be one word; as would energetic, eccentric, forward, and flighty. She isn't ever one to keep her attention one just one thing, and unfortunately that means she has a very short span for what she can do. It takes her rider's entire concentration to keep her on one task so that they can perform it well enough for their teacher's liking, and it often leaves both frustrated and tired. However, the difference in the two is that Kinurnith can't, and won't, stay down for long.
She's a happy-go-lucky, what's next, puppy of a dragoness. The Amethyst thinks all the world is her playground and that no one would ever harm her for any reason, and this can easily get her into trouble. To Kinurninth though, it's just how it is. She's constantly needing to look for what she deems the "next big thing," and often puts creatures, events, and objects in juxtaposition to one another in order to see which is better.
As a plus, or not depending on how you see it, Kninurninth loves to sing and perform. Whether this is just crooning along to some melody she's put in her head, or doing acrobatics in the air, something she's actually good at, she doesn't care. It just matters how many are watching, and to her that's everyone...whether they actually are, or not.
Mind-voice (If applicable)
..................oh was I supposed to do something here Mine? I'm sure I was, I feel bad..............WAIT! I remember now...........oh, so you actually want me to do it then?
- Bright and sharp
- Often gets annoying if listened for too long, unless you happen to enjoy sharp pitches
- Has a habit of taking very long pauses before saying something again.
