History Dal was born in another weyr as the son of a Blue rider. His father D'vyr was a fine man who inspired dal all his life. Dal's childhood dream was to become a rider. At ten years old, Dal's life crashed around him. His father along with his dragon Selkieth were lost during a flight into the wilds on the other side of the mountains that were home to their Weyr. It was presumed that the rider had abandoned them. Dal never believed it like his mother did. His father must have died somehow causing his dragon to between in grief with him. (In actuality wild animals attacked and there were too many to fend off , leading to the death of the rider and selkieth betweened them into oblivion.)
Dal was never the same after the death of his father. His mother joined a caravan as a weaver to support them and met a man traveling. A carpenter named Reckshan. After just a few short months, his mother was married and Reckshan took over the spot as his 'father'.
He HATED the man. The carpenter loved his mother dearly and tried to mend the rift between himself and his new son, but to no avail. To Dal, it seemed like he was trying to take his father's place. The thought that a carpenter thought himself equal to a Rider burned inside him as if he'd been struck by thread. After a month or so dealing with Dal's hatred, his new father decided to force him to recognize what hard work being a carpenter was.
Rackshan took him on as an apprentice, and was a harsh master. He beat the boy until he accomplished the work correctly, leaving scars that marred his back, fostering dal's hatred along with constant insults against his father's apparent abandonment. Eventually when he was old enough and accomplished enough in his craft, he left the caravan and his abusive father behind and joined up with another in another hold.
Where he earned his living crafting beautiful wooden figures , traveling with them for 6 years until he reached Sollace Hold and decided it was time to put down roots for a while. He remained in sollace where he had a shop.
One day while carving a likeness of his father astride his dragon selkieth, he was discovered by ara and avirith. They took him to trelis even though he was soon to pass out of eligibility and during his first standing, he impressed bronze Kelath.
He slowly worked himself into having relationships and friendships with his fellow weyrlings. His uptight-ness eased as he found cameraderie with his friends, and he has become more responsible, becoming, thanks to his dragon, a sort of protector over his wing brothers and sisters.
He developed love for Iirla of Gold Izanycorth, but it was to be a doomed and one sided love. He lost her to V'lkan, rider of Garnet thormyth, in a fairly ugly breakup after she kissed the garnet rider when she was supposed to be with him. As such he has a violent distaste of the lordling. His dragon, however, still harbored a softspot for the young gold, and the farther apart he and Iirla grew, the closer he became to V'lkan's classmate Ellitra of Amethyst Nevinth.
She soothed his hurts and he grew to admit that he may love her. Not to her of course, he wasn't quite ready to admit it to anyone but himself. Eventually as time passed, and they grew closer, he accepted that he loved her and was going to tell her. That evening, the thread came and his world was turned upside down.
His best friend, Jillalene of blue Eulurth had been attempting to help evacuate some of the holders who were working in the fields when it started. The thread struck her and the only mercy in her death was that it had been quick. Dal hadnt even heard a scream as Eulurth took them between.
The silence was not to last long however, the cries of his own dragon soon filled the air. Protecting his rider to the very last, Dalrian felt the regret, pain and fear of his dragon as the thread struck him. They had been close to the ground and in a final push of determination, the bronze had flung his rider before he betweened.
Dal woke up two days later to deal with everything that happened on his own. The events that followed mattered little to him aside from the fact they were passing news. He took his old position as a carpenter and opened a shop which actually did better than his old one had. The work kept him busy, and he never dwelled on things for very long.
The only break in the pain and constant work was Ellitra. She seemed to have taken it upon herself to keep an eye on him and support him in every way she could. He was greatful, and he loved her. But he knew as a rider she had her own duties to look to. So he tries to seem strong and even forces himself to watch the weyrling lessons when Elli's with him and they're called. He still cant give up being the protector of his classmates. It was one part of himself Kelath gave him but he vowed he would never relinquish. He continued his training with the sword to keep up his strength, and is now at the level of a sword's master initiate. (just before a master swordsman?)

She is mostly dark purple with a pale white gold streaking through her sides and fading down into her tail. A burnt orange color envelopes her neck and dips down her snout and wraps around the end of it too. The same color twirls around her legs with the dark purple.
Personality:
This large female is totally in control, and EXTREMELY defiant. She's the boss, and everyone had better learn that fact. The only person/creature she shows any loyalty towards, besides herself, is her owner. She refuses to share Hers' attention with anyone, or anything. She can't stand it when she's compared to the golds, and thinks she is much, MUCH better than any gold ever hatched.
