Tikrin isn't the first person you'll notice in a room. Not because he's ugly, but because he tends to keep in the shadows. His whole presence seems to meld in with darkness and cease to exist. When one finally does notice him, they'll see the black hair, the golden brown eyes, the smirk that says he has something up his sleeve. He screams dangerous to most he meets, and just plain bad to others.
Only more aged people see him for the young man, scared and uncertain, that he is. Instead, most fixate on the proud jaw and nose, the arches of his face. Things that make him look angled and masculine. No part of him has a delicate beauty. In fact, he seems a bit rough. He doesn't have a beard. He has scruff along his face, and his hair is shorter, but messily kept. In a way it always looks like he just woke up. He's tall as well, and has lean muscle that is covered in tiny scars.
Personality
Tikrin is the kind of young man that one would hear about in a story. An antagonist, he is never the one to strive for good. He's the one that likes causing trouble. Really, he's even cruel as some would say. He picks at your fears, your insecurities, till he has you at a breaking point. Then he'll back away and observe his work with an innocent grin. Some may call it evil, others would look up and worship him. Only those able to cut through the bs can understand his reasoning and methods. He's not sadistic, or not entirely. He's actually quite insecure himself. He doesn't want to be forgotten, and he doesn't want to be in the back seat.
The last thing on Tikrin's mind is relinquishing control. Which, is why he plays mind games so often. The other reason is that he likes to set things in motion. He wants to understand people, and perhaps he wants to understand himself. He's curious, he wants to know what each individual breaking point is. How far does it reach, how strong does he have to be to break it, how quickly does it build up again? He has to know. In fact if you were to ask him why he does what be does, he'd reply that he was bored.
The fact is, Tikrin is smart. He is incredibly gifted with knowledge and the ability to get more, something that most believe is a mutation in his brain. He's not a people person, but he wants to understand them. In some ways, he's even a mad scientist. He's just the one that loves watching his lab rats squirm while he tests them. So many have told him he's wasting his talent. Tikrin disagrees. He believes his, more recreational means put his skills to better use. He likes the challenge, the rebellion, the freedom. In some ways, he's addicted to manipulating situations and people. Not because of the thrill though that too is nice. It's his security blanket. He needs it to feel good and secure.
Perhaps the only redeeming thing, or two about Tikrin are ones that are both expected, and unexpected. The first is expected really. He lies true. He cheats, he's actually addicted to gambling. Be prods and jests and makes your life miserable. However, he will not hesitate to point out your flaws. Why you may ask then is this a good personality trait? Sure it is cruel in it's own way, but he can be honest when people really need honesty the most. Few can be as truthful in those times, and Tikrin prides himself on this. The second is less expected.
Tikrin will not stand for someone to be harmed physically or mentally when they have done nothing to deserve it. Now, you're probably thinking "Isn't he cruel and somewhat evil though?'" While this is true, when it comes to an innocent getting hurt, Tikrin will defend them. When it's someone that deserves it however, he will join in or be right their at the center. He will even watch himself as he's pushing buttons so that he doesn't ever go past the point where his "victim" breaks completely. Whether it is verbal abuse or fighting, Tikrin is valiant in this alone.

Appearance:
As far as amethysts go, Aedaluth is strangely bulky. Her build is strong and sturdy, yet at the same time there is a soft feminine feel to her body. The majority of her muscle is found in her upper body; her chest, front legs, and wing arms are strong and well-formed, leaving no room to doubt she'll be a powerhouse in the skies. She may not be as willowy and agile as most of her colour, but she'll certainly outlast many of them. TO make her appearance that much stranger, she has a long, bullish head with strong brow ridges and head knobs that end in sharp-looking points. For some strange reason, Aedaluth hatched with only two toes on her hind feet that, luckily, don't seem to affect her too much.
This amethyst's hide is a soft, grey-tinged purple. There are sections that are darker and lighter, but the shifts in her hide are, for the most part, subtle. The tips of her wings, tail, feet and head get progressively darker in colour, with her head and tail being a purple so dark they appear black. On its own, her dark hide would likely not gather her much attention; however, her hide is covered in striking, eye-catching markings. From head to tail, every inch of hide is covered in a maze-like patterning, the lines of which seem to catch in strange ways and play tricks on the eyes of viewers, sometimes making it seem like the lines are shifting. The lines of her markings come in a variety of whites, pinks, purples and blue-tinged hues that melt into each other. There are points where the lines almost seem to blend in with her base hide.
Aedaluth is a strange amethyst. She tends to remain perfectly still when she's standing, using her energy on thinking and observing rather than moving. She has a power to her posture as she stands, head held high in confidence. Yet, for all that she stands still she never seems to be perfectly still, especially when she is interested in something. Though her body may not move, her head and neck are never still, moving with her words, trying to observe the object of her interest from all angles.
Personality:
Intelligent, Curious, Eccentric, Challenges the Norm, Owns up to her Mistakes
Aedaluth is a strange amethyst. Where most are ditsy and playful, Aedaluth is cold and calculating. She is an intelligent dragoness, and has an abnormally long memory for an amethyst; of course she will quickly learn to utilize her human partner's memory capacity to her advantage. Aedaluth's goal in life is to learn; she's the type who wants to know the 'how' of everything. How does this work? What makes this tick? Luckily for her bonded, Aedaluth likes to discover the answers on her own and will rarely pester her rider with questions if she can help it.
A thinker and observer, Aedaluth is not the type to rashly run into a situation, in fact, she can sometimes be too slow in her reactions. She likes to observe everything so instead of trying to break off a fight between friends, she's more likely to sit back and see who comes out the victor, all in the name of science. She may even go so far as to play mind games with others to see what happens. That's not to say she is heartless however. Aedaluth actually cares for her friends, and she'll quickly learn what boundaries can and cannot be crossed when it comes to her duties as a friend. When she knows she is in the wrong, she won't hesitate to own up to her mistakes and apologize, but be ready for a long string of mental observations about her own emotions.
If a dragon could be an inventor, this lady would be it. She's always looking for ways to change and improve things, be it the way straps are designed or the maneuvers used in drills. 'Challenge the norm' is a motto of hers, and she won't hesitate to take changes into her own claws if she can! While she tends to stay calm during her 'experiments', it’s not unusual for her to get excited over anything she is passionate about. In fact, even Aedaluth will have moments of uncontrolled thrill, bouncing about and exclaiming her excitement to the world.
Mind-Voice:
Oh how intriguing... That outcome was not what I was expecting.
In most situations, Aedaluth's voice is low and has an air of calm indifference about it. Perhaps the proper term would be professional. However, in moments of passion or excitement her voice can lose its professional edge and become rather shrill and chaotic as she rambles about her success. In times of extreme thrill, it’s not uncommon to hear her break out in maniacal laughter.
Inspiration:
Aedaluth is based loosely on the Greek character Daedalus, an intelligent inventor of sorts. He was best known for building the minotaur’s labyrinth. Aedaluth was based on the idea of inventing and ‘science’, or rather, a mad scientist. Her hide was based on the labyrinth itself, while her build more closely resembles the minotaur. Her name is a quick play on Daedalus’ name.

History
Tikrin grew up in Ista Weyr with the other weyrbrats just like Panille did. The difference was that his parents actually tried to keep up with him. This is probably where Tikrin started his curiosity for humans. He always wondered how it was that some parents like Pan's could easily throw her away, while others like his were almost too doting on him. He tested different theories, made his parents mad often with confusion for his actions, all in the name of curiosity.
He wanted to know why people did things, how they worked, and how he could change them. It's mostly because his mind was so intelligent and inquisitive, he had to keep it busy with something. The only person he didn't do anything to was Pan, and that's because the first few times she made his life miserable. He's smart, he learned to leave his friend alone. Tikirn was always clueless though as to why Pan and the boy later known as S'vrin stayed with him all those turns.
They both were in candidate training together, neither impressing until Panille finally met Iliath. Even here the two have stuck together through Pan's escapades as a thief, and his tricks and experiments with the other candidates. To Tikrin, this environment proves to be interesting with many personalities in a time of a human's life that changes drastically. Not to mention the angst after every hatching is fun to study too.
When the Obsidian was hatched though and Panille slowly but surely became closer to S'vrin, Tikrin withdrew into himself not trusting anyone. It wasn't until more recently that he decided to try and make amends with his once good friend. Besides, Trelis had so many deliciously interesting events going on. Naturally the boy just couldn't stay away.

Tikrin had been right to come to Trelis Weyr for juicy details and events. Before him an array of drama unfolded as first Threadfall returned, and then Loraketh betweened from injury. What happened next the candidate gladly took in stride. S'vrin and Ar'rex's return was something no one thought would happen, but as Tikrin could see with so many unhappy riders and weyrfolk, the two quickly made friends. Before anyone knew it had happened, the Weyr split into two divisions, and Tikrin just had to sit back and observe. He became close to his "brother", telling S'vrin the names of people who were against him, even giving him information later about a planned attack from the rebellion. Able to thwart Noita's attack, the rider's against the new colors won the first dragon battle, and now Tikrin waits for the next big event to fall into his lap. It's only a matter of time.
