Why was Ooma out in the rain you might ask? Ooma herself wasn't quite sure...
She tossed her soggy curls behind her left shoulder, wiping some of the drizzle from her face. Laughter made her turn. Ooma paused and peered around the corner of a building, eyes widening at the scene before her.
The girl gasped, choking softly. Cayin was... kissing...another.....man... Her cheeks burned despite the rain. She'd stolen a kiss if you could call what they'd shared a kiss. Why...? How...?
Ooma was angry she had lost to Liam even more so since he was another man. But jealous and perhaps freaked out too...
But mostly just angry. She stepped around the corner, advancing quickly toward Cayin. Her face was angry but also confused and shocked. Ooma raised her hand and swung it toward Cayin's face, hoping to hit him hard enough to knock some kind of sense into his head, if that was even possible. She hissed, her question also asking what Liam had she didn't....

Cayin merely rolled his eyes. And people called HIM the child! Nonetheless, he couldn't help but chuckle as he watched. It certainly brought back memories of their childhood. There were times he regretted those Turns away from the Weyr. Then again, as Liam's lips met his own he grinned. Would things have been different if he had stayed?
It was as he was pressing into the kiss that the sudden sound of boots in mud caused him him to pull away and look up, only to wince and step back as a hand collided with his cheek. Blinking in surprise, he rubbed at his jaw, not really feeling the pain so much as just being confused.
"Oh! I remember you," He finally grinned at her, "The girl from the store rooms!" Did he understand why she was angry? Not at all.

Liam almost felt as if he had been the one slapped across the face. How could Cayin be so clueless?! Obviously the girl (whose name he had forgotten in his ire) was attracted to him and was angry to find him kissing someone else-- and that the "someone else" was a boy of all things!
His slender, short body immediately tensed, and his blue eyes turned to stone as he glared at Ooma. Side-stepping protectively in front of his lover, he clenched his fists. The girl hadn't said anything, so he didn't bother saying anything either. The Candidate just stood in front of Cayin like a rock, ready to defend his lover if the girl tried to attack again.
...not that he would stand much of a chance. The girl was taller than he was, and as he looked down at his skinny form, he realized she was probably stronger than he was, too. But he had to defend Cayin because he knew the other man wouldn't do it himself! His eyes blazed.

Ooma tightened her hands into fists, her jaw licking stubbornly. "Why?" She asked, voice hissing as it cracked. She smirked, somewhat satisfied that she'd hit him, but frowned when Cayin was once again clueless. "You...you... jerk. You could have told me about.." She pointed glaring at Liam. "Him." Ooma spat the word like poison. Oh yeah, he'd much rather kiss a boy!
The girl would have liked to send Gretchen on the boys, knowing her golden dog would not hesitate to attack them. But her dog was in her room... Dang..
Her flits appeared and chirped worriedly at her, crooning in upset tones. Violet and black hides grew wet then squawked and betweened. So much for them...
Ooma glared dangerously at Liam, wanting to sock him in the mouth. How dare he! How could he?! It made Ooma sick to think about it...

Cayin blinked in confusion as Liam stepped in front of him, clearing being protective; Cayin was slow, but he wasn't an idiot, at least when it came to his friend's behaviour. He snaked his arms over the candidate's shoulders and rested his chin on the shorter man's head. he hoped the posture would convey the idea of calming down; no one was hurt, and there was no reason to get defensive.
It was a tad weird to size the other two up; Cayin was surprised to see he may have had the strongest build of them all, which was rather sad as he had a rather lean build all in all; his light muscling came from riding and his craft. He wondered if he could break the two up if he had to. Of course, he still couldn't understand what it was he had apparently done to cause such a ruckus!
"Him? Uh.. well, he's Liam, he's a candidate too." He paused, still not sure what he was supposed to be telling about. As far as he was aware, there was nothing to really fight about! "Am I supposed to introduce the other candidates too? I don't know all of them yet though..."

Liam's body remained tense, even as Cayin wrapped his arms around his shoulders, his lover's chin resting on his head. The Candidate knew his friend was trying to calm him down because he didn't see any reason why they should be fighting! Well... there wasn't any fighting yet, but there might be.
"Cayin, you dimglow!" Liam growled. "She obviously likes you and is disgusted to find out you're with me!" His voice, while a low growl, also held a note of pride that Cayin was with him and not someone else. As the girl's flits popped into view, he sank back into a more defensive stance, wondering if his dog would be able to hear him whistle from where he was.
"Wake up, Cayin!" Liam cried, exasperated. "She meant that you could have told her you were seeing me, not introduced us! Although I'm not sure why she thought she deserved an explaination when you obviously don't return her feelings for you!" Usually Liam was quiet and shy around people he didn't know, but for Cayin... well, things were always a bit different...

Ooma's hand went to her hip. Oh! Cayin's boyfriend looked so smug! It was seriously ticking her off.... With a poisonous glare at Liam she clinched her fists. She'd like to beat him to a pulp, and feed him to Gretchen. She smiled at that. Gretchen would tear both men to shreds at her command...
She pushed her dripping hair from her face, taking a deep breath. "It's none of my concern. I hope you two are happy."
That should have sounded friendly but the ice and venom embedded into every word was like a slap to the face. Oh they'd crossed the wrong girl....

Oh... OH! Was that what this was about? Was Liam right in his assumptions that Ooma liked him? They had only spoken once really, so it had never even crossed his mind as a possibility. He tensed up, feeling incredibly guilty for not knowing such an important thing.
"S-sorry Ooma... I didn't know..." He mumbled sheepishly, feeling terrible. Even he could hear the venom in her voice. "Oh, we can still be friends right?"

"You're right, it is none of your concern!" Liam snapped, his hands tightening into fists once more. "Just because you like somebody doesn't mean they like you back!" Stupid girl. This was why he liked boys. They didn't fall in love just by looking at someone.
"And we are happy, so I'd appreciate it if you'd stay away from him!" Liam's voice, normally friendly and warm, was just as venemous as Ooma's. At Cayin's words, he glared at his lover. Did he really want to be friends with a person like that? Well, it was none of his business he Cayin wanted to, but Liam wasn't going to be happy about it, and he certainly wasn't going to trust Ooma!

Ooma growled. Yes, she actually growled at Liam. It was low in her throat and she narrowed her eyes. She balled her fists and her nails dug into her hands. "Huh?" There was a rude grunt to her tone, as if purposely offensives. The black haired girl stepped toward Liam threateningly, swinging a fist at his cheek. She was as weak as he, doubtfully a hair stronger perhaps but hardly.
"Well take that." She hissed, backing away. She was tired of this. It made her feel sick and sad and angry... and...and...and...and... jealous!
"I don't know Cayin." Ooma said finally, shoulders drooping. Cayin was happy... would she ever be that way? Ever find someone? Someone who loved her?

"Li..." Cayin groaned as the man went on the defensive, worried that his attitude would somehow bring trouble. He couldn't help but feel happy that Liam was being so protective and outspoken, but the worry was outweighing the happiness. He tightened his grasp on the shorter man, trying to show his worry without outright saying it.
Then it was Ooma who made the first move. Cayin was slow on the uptake, but as she swung her fist towards them Cayin leaned back, taking Liam with him in the hopes the fist would miss. He was slow though, so there was no guarantee he had been successful, but he didn't wait to double check before stepping between the two.
"Come now... no need to fight..." He spoke softly, his hands moving in a 'calm down' motion as he looked between the two. "This is all my fault... I'm sorry..."

She actually growled at him? Was this girl crazy? Apparently she was, as she stepped towards him, swinging a fist directly at his face. Yep, this girl was definitely crazy! Liam felt Cayin pull him back, but the other man was too slow.
Wham!
Liam was rather stunned when Ooma's fist collided with his face, and he realized that he was definitely going to have a black eye the following morning, and that he was definitely dealing with a crazy girl at this point as he hit the ground hard, having been to slow on the uptake to defend himself.
"Take that?!" He cried as he heaved himself up, dripping mud. "Is that the best you've got?!" Had anyone that didn't know the situation stumbled upon them, it might have been rather amusing. Liam looked like a riled kitten facing a rather fierce pit-bull at this point, but he didn't care. He clenched his fists and put himself in the defense position again.
"Come on, bring it!"
That was about when Cayin stepped between them. "No need to fight?! She started it!" Now he was sounding like himself again, and looking more like it, too, as he lowered his fists. "And it's not your fault, it's hers!"

Now Ooma looked smug. Liam hit the ground and she'd hit him nicely. She smirked.
"Oh its my fault? I'm not the one doing who knows what with my own sex. It's wrong. Esspecially in public. Keep it to the bedroom boys."
She sneered, hand resting on her hip. Oh yeah. Ooma was asking for it. Begging for it now. She really didn't care what happened. She just wanted the men to hurt like she did. Her jealousy clear and rearing its ugly head in her remark as well.
"Oh and no, that's not the best I've got. I just don't want to disable you so close to the hatching. It's be a pity to lose a candidate..." Ooma spit those words out, eyes flashing. She made more enemies than friends it seemed...

Cayin grimaced, well aware that he was too soft spoken to be heard by either of these two. He sighed, his shoulders slumping in defeat as he glanced back and forth, feeling guilty that he had caused Liam to be in such a situation.
"I wouldn't mind going back to bed..." He mumbled sheepishly, regretting coming out here in the first place now. If he had known Liam would get hurt because of him... He huffed, knowing he couldn't just stand by any longer.
"Please Ooma, hit me instead. I am the one who has caused this mess..." He knew Liam would likely deny it, but in Cayin's mind it was his fault; he had failed to see the signs and act accordingly, as usual. It just wasn't right to see Liam getting picked on when the dark-haired man was innocent in all this. Kneeling down beside Liam, Cayin gently ran a finger along his friend's cheek, checking to see if it was bruising yet. After a quick moment, he wrapped his arms around liam and slung the candidate over his shoulder, stumbling slightly under the weight but managing anyways. Hopefuly Li wouldn't complain too much about it.
"I need to take him to the infirmary now, can we talk sometime Ooma?" He asked, a smile still plastered to his face despite how uneasy he was feeling.

Liam's anger was really inflamed now! He winced as Cayin's finger ran across his cheek, and shouted as he was slung unceremoniously over Cayin's shoulder. "Put me down you dimglow! I need to teach that... that... that... girl a lesson!"
And it was true, at least in his mind. Since Cayin was facing Ooma, and Liam was not (being slung over his lover's shoulder), he took to shouting his argument to the girl. "HAVEN'T YOU EVER BEEN IN A SHARING WEYR?! TWO BOYS OR TWO GIRLS TOGETHER ISN'T WRONG OR DISGUSTING. WHAT THE SHARDS DO YOU THINK HAPPENS WHEN A GREEN WITH A MALE RIDER RISES AND A BLUE WITH A MALE RIDER CATCHES, HUH?!" His voice was loud and angry.
"AND LOOK AT YOUR OWN JUIOR WEYRLORD, YOU FOOL OF A GIRL. HIS TOPAZ KAYATH, WITH EGGS ON THE SANDS? CAUGHT BY BROWN KAITH, WHO HAS A MALE RIDER. GUESS WHAT HAPPENED THERE, HUH? YEAH, THAT'S RIGHT. WHO KNOWS WHAT WITH THEIR OWN SEX. IT'S NOT WRONG, YOU IDIOT, IT'S A SHARDING PART OF WEYR LIFE!"
Secretly, Liam really wished Cayin would take him away. He was getting tired of yelling, and his face hurt. Plus, there was nothing you could say to make a crazy person listen!
