Dalrian Rolled his eyes.
"We'll see who's throwing life away. You seem pretty confident in your abilities despite the fact that izanycorth's and kayath won't look twice at you wouldn't you say? They see your impotence?" He strolled almost nonchalantly, well within striking distance if braymoth ever wanted to prove that he was more than talk. Dragons were powerful yes, large definitely. But that wasn't always a strength.
The attack almost seemed like just a toying swipe. That was disappointing. He'd never get better if he didn't find a skilled opponent. The dragon's size made it little more than child's play to follow the muscle movements an see the tail sweeping toward him. He simply hopped lightly out of the way, his face giving away nothing as the blow caused a breeze by his side.
" oh come now braymoth. You wouldn't want me to fall asleep would you?"
Briefly he wondered if he should just go back inside. It was obvious the garnet was not in a mood. He didn't know enough about the crimson dragon to goad him into really trying.

Braymoth, tilted his ead, in interest. So, the brat wasn't just hot air, he had some reflexes to back up his boasts. Intruiging. It came to no shock to Yufa that Braymoth was putting little effort into outright attacking the human. It wasn't because he didn't want to fight - Yufa could almost taste the bloodlust emanating from her dragon - but he had rarely beenthe type to simply jump headfirst into something. He knew from his rider that Dalrian's weapon could do him harm and he was in no hurry to simply give the boy an opening to hit him. More red joined his whirling eyes as Dalrian tried to goad him into fighting.
Unlike Kelath, I don't need a stuck up queen to tell me my worth boy. Braymoth hissed, stepping closer. It had hit a sore spot, Braymoth had intended to have the queen as his ally. He supposed she still looked well enough on him, enough that he could still consider her an ally of sorts, and that was enough for him. Besides, he had the Topaz Chahaturth wrapped around his claw. Yet, even she held less value in Braymoth's eyes than his green mate. It was clear Dalrian wouldn't attempt to man up and attack him. I won't patch you up if you get hurt Braymoth. He glanced at his rider, giving a smug feeling back.
Tell me boy... His voice dropped to a playful hiss, How did it feel to have your own queen so very close, only to be snatched away by another, an outsider? He gave another whip of his tail, still curious as to how good the boy's reflexes really were, though this time his tail was followed by a swipe of his claw. One mate abandoned you and the other pities every fiber of your being. How sad. He lunged again.

Dal knew by the hiss in the dragon's voice he had landed on a bit of a sore spot for the garnet. He hadn't judged wrong the vainglorious little sub-kings had a streak of self importance that Kelath had never had. One of the reasons they worked so well together. Kelath hadn't needed the approval of his queens, it wouldnt have mattered if the one he loved had been the smallest amethyst or the most radiant queen. Braymoth's comment didn't make him even twitch because he knew better.
"I have my queen. I'm not so selfish that I would keep her tied to me when she loves another. And I've found my mate thank you very much." His answer was somewhat matterof fact and he almost missed thetail whip, barely dodging it by ducking back. His sword came up to deflect the garnet's claws. It did the job but he would have to be a bit more careful he decided as the tip of the sword ripped through the extra fabric of his other sleeve.
"It's not pity braymoth. It's love. But you wouldnt know about that would you? I'm getting stronger every day and you're helping to that end also!" He grinned like a madman again and this time met braymoth's lunge with a leap lightly to the side tapping the flat of the blade against the dragon's flesh. He was toying with him. really having no desire to physically harm him, but the banter was enjoyable and he was getting a real workout with his reflexes. That claw had almost gotten him. New scars would earn a sound talking to from Ellitra, but this was the most alive he'd felt out of her arms in a very long time. He was enjoying it.

Braymoth rolled his eyes. By the man's matter of speaking, the garnet also had his queen. Perhaps not as strongly, but the claim was still there even if she had twined with another. In truth, Braymoth had grown tired of dealing with the stuck up, needy additudes of the metallic ladies. Izanycorth had that lovely dark streak, but she had no control of it, rendering that part of her useless. Chahaturth was much more his style, if a bit too whiny for his likes, and Kayath's vanity was beyond what the sub-king could tolerate. He hissed as metal dinged off his claws, mere inches away from his tender hide, allowing the brat to push his attack away. You're holding back. Yufa's voice was straight forward, but it was clear she was surprised Braymoth hadn't tried to shred her friend yet. The dark red dragon snorted, paying his own rider little mind. Of course he was holding back! The puny human wouldn't stand a fair chance against him if he put his weight into it... not that he stood a chance anyway. The garnet was toying with Dalrian just as much as the ex-rider was toying with him. He gave a hiss as the man slapped him with the flat of his sword, amused that despite his claims the man seemed too afraid to actually cause harm. You would be surprised what I know of human. He chortled, clearly amused by the very notion. Of course he understood love, he could understand it through his rider at the very least, and he had Lorendyth. Theirs was a strange sort of love, he supposed. I do wonder how true this love is? Don't you ever wonder if she's there out of obligation, because she thinks you might do something drastic if she leaves? When her dragoness rises and she falls in the arms of another man, what will you do? He lunged again, snapping his jaws as close as he dared without outright biting the man. He couldn't be killing humans, it would stop His from doing her healing training. Not to mention, he was almost enjoying this little game. He kept the attacks coming, claws and tail swiping at the man with increasing speed as he pushed the brat to move faster. He had to admit... that Dalrian would face off against a full grown garnet was impressive. This was turning out to be quite entertaining.

Dal found himself approaching the point where his mind no longer controlled his actions and that wouldn't do. As braymoth snapped close to him he braced himself and pushed away with a palm on his opponents snout.
" You don't get it do you? She could have left any time if she'd wanted to. She knew that. When Neviinth rises, the only person's arms she'll fall into will be my own. I won't be as courteous as I'm being with you, little prince."
As he said it he almost wished the words hadn't crossed his lips. Then he realized they were true as he sidestepped a swipe of the garnet's claws. He would probably kill any man or woman that tried to touch her. Flight lust was a rule unto it's own. But she was his. By the end of Nevinth's flight... They would know it.
The vicious determined light in his eyes flared as instead of blocking or sidestepping the last swipe of braymoth's tail, he tapped the blade edge into the swing. If the garnet didn't pull back there would be a cut there, perhaps enough to scar.

The boy was good. Braymoth hadn't had this much fun exercising in a while, even if he wasn't getting a true exercise from the movements. Fighting spirit. I like that boy. He replied lazily, as Dalrian pushed away from him. He was curious as to how far the man would go to protect his lady love from flightlusting riders. Perhaps he would have to chase Nevinth and see for himself. After all.. His could get oh so vicious when he had control of her emotions. Don't you dare chase for that reason, Braymoth.
His eyes flashed as Dalrian's stance hardened and he didn't miss the way the sword was turned. It was too late to pull his attack however... besides, if the man was moving to the offensive there was very little chance he would be able to dodge the attack now! Instead of trying to alter his attack, Braymoth simply added more force, hissing as the sword dug into the flesh of his tail, but continuing through with the attack, positive he would be able to knock the man off his feet.
It seems the little boy is getting serious. How delightful. He hissed, his eyes whirling in amusement. Off to the side, Yufa gasped lightly and did her best not to show the pain she felt; after all, Braymoth was forcing her to feel everything as well.
