Eggs in a Basket

Hanako wandered through the gather happily. She had stopped by dalrian's furniture stall and bought a few toys for kaedin, daekam, and Inasuke. She'd Have to go find them once the crèche workers were taking care of them again after the gather.

In her strolls she almost stopped by the ... Junior weyrman's booth just for a happy birthday, but she passed on, coming to a rather large assortment of flit and huntyre eggs. She studied the prices for a bit before making up her mind. Just because she had never had anything but runnerbeasts before didn't mean that was all she could have.

Giving the eggs a smile she played Eenie meenie to choose. She came up with one of the larger eggs toward the back and a medium sized one that rested near it. It appeared she would soon have two flits to keep her company. She counted out the marks, determining that she wouldn't spend much more until she got paid again.

Aela headed to the Flitter stall, hood covering her face. She looked over the eggs and saw that a few were left. Talath? She called to her dozing Obsidian. She received some dark thoughts before an image popped into her mind. Talath dealt with words and emotions, not images. So it meant Crest had entered the conversation as well.

Aela gave the other person the marks and pointed to the egg she wanted. Now all she had to do was wait. Who knew. Maybe Crest might leave her alone for a little if she got him this Firelizard companion. She waited.

Aridani slipped silently through the crowd, wondering once more why she was doing this. From her shoulder, Harmony chirped and flashed her an image of that handsome topazrider. Her... handsome topazrider. No.. she shook her head. What was she to D'tri? Just the little mute girl who hung on to him like her life depended on it.

She sighed, running a hand through her hair. She had arrived at the egg stall by then and she took a deep breath as she stared down at the few remaining eggs. What if she couldn't get it to him in time... what if it hatched for her? She couldn't bear the thought of ever impressing another firelizard... she had her Harmony, she didn't need another. She needed to do this though... for D'tri... for herself.

She waved the girl over, holding out the marks needed for an egg. Harmony too, called the vendor, giving an image of Hers with an egg.

Finally, Linda was able to get to the gather in the Weyr Bowl and away from her duties as a Healer. Hana of course took her customary position on her right shoulder, holding on while she nestled up against the brown hair. Her other ones were out sunning themselves however since they didn't get to do much while she worked. It was all good for Linda though, ever since she got to the island she had seen Huntyre after Huntyre all around the area. The different colors, what they could do, the new type of animal that only showed up in this area. Linda just had to get one, they reminded her of birds of prey and they seemed to get along with Fire Lizards and Dragons... Sure she had 6 of the previous kind but well this type of pet was different and could do different things.

Hana could feel Linda's heart pounding a bit in excitement as the human girl ran through the gather to try to find a stall that was selling those eggs. She started to chitter as her eyes started to whirl a bit. Her little golden body bobbed up and down a bit too as she started to seemingly urge Linda to go faster as she wanted to see too. Finally Linda found one, and for a good price too being the last one? Swiftly she took out her marks and held them out towards the Vendor before smiling a little bit. "Here, I would like a Huntyre egg please?"
