It was a little late in the gather... Unfortunately. But she had made it. Sim was just finishing setting up her stall. She was grateful to have been given a table to work with... now it was just a matter of setting out the eggs. There were multiple clutches here... one was a large clutch from a queen with eggs that definitely held royals... Those were more expensive... The others were smaller... and then there were the Huntyre eggs, which she was just asking the same price for each... Her two greens were busy protecting the lines of eggs which were held in warm sands.
Sim sighed and pressed her hair behind her ears as she counted them again... There were quite a few firelizard eggs.... And only four huntyre eggs.... One of which she had claimed for herself... It was the smallest egg of the clutch... And it was set aside from the others for when it clutched... She had done much the same with the flitter eggs... setting aside a large and a small egg that she hoepd to keep for herself... but of course she woudl sell them in the right mark came about. She should keep the gold egg, she thought... but that one would make her the most. Besides... she'd just find more clutches later. It was hard to get them from the mother sometimes, though... her little fair and Max had to help her out often enough... she needed some good strong flitts, a huntyre would be nice... and of course maybe another pup.... eventually. She had to think about what she could afford to take care of... Flitters were often easier than canines.
She found herself thinking about S'vrin again... Why had he shown any interest in her at all...? She wasn't sure... but what she did know was... She was at the Gather and she might end up actually being able to stay here for awhile... Maybe... The Wingleader certainly made it seem more inviting. Of course... if she kenw more about him... she might not be so happy to accept his kindness... but everyone deserved the benefit of the doubt from time to time...
Oh! She best get ready for customers...
She laid out the cards which listed her prices, which read as follows.
"Gold Eggs: 75 marks Large Eggs: 60 marks Mid-sized Eggs: 50 marks Small Eggs: 25 Marks Huntyre Eggs: 30 marks
Prices are somewhat negotiable. Please inquire."
She dusted her hands off and gave a sigh... Yep...
((Alright.. for flitter eggs, give an egg size and a number 1-19. What flitter you get will be RO'd. No one is guaranteed any particular color or size. For the huntyres, say Huntyre with a number 1-3. There are only 3 available huntyre eggs.))
Flitter #1 - Goblenn's Flitter #2 - Gold Egg - B'den's Flitter #3 - Sim's Flitter #4 - Thaden's Flitter #5 - Sim's Flitter #6 - Skye's Flitter #7 - Ka'mond's Flitter #8 - Jilli's Flitter #9 - Reina's Flitter #10 - D'tri's Flitter #11 - Ka'mond's Flitter #12 - Ar'rex Flitter #13 - R'hard's Flitter #14 - Jilli's Flitter #15 - Aela's Flitter #16 - S'vrin's Flitter #17 - Nym's Flitter #18 - Thaden's Flitter #19 - S'vrin's Flitter #20 - Ara's
Huntyre #1 - Sim's Huntyre #2 - Linda's Huntyre #3 - B'den's

R'hard had to admit, between his brief reunion with Aela and competing in the Games, this Gather had been a great deal more exciting than most he had attended in the past. He and Kaith had spent as much of their free time as R'hard could get Kaith to agree to training for the Games in preparation of earning a spot in the wings. However, there was only so much the brown would put up with, so they had called it quits for the day, and R'hard was left to wander the gather on his own.
He'd contemplated buying a few things, but his marks were beginning to run low, and he wanted to save them for something special. He wasn't quite sure yet exactly what that was, but he was sure he'd know it when he saw it.
Sure enough, Sahar's interested croon drew his attention to a new stall, one that had just opened up. The cards laid out on the table listed fire lizard and huntyre eggs for sale, and R'hard smiled. He'd thought about buying an egg earlier in the gather, but by the time he'd made up his mind, they had all been taken. It looked like he had another chance.
He drew his remaining marks out of his wallet and counted them. Ah, good, just enough for an egg. He set them down in front of the vendor and smiled. "I'd like an egg, please. Just one of the small ones."

Simiia smiled. "Of course." She picked up one of the small ones - this one was Coreena's and the little green was sad to see it go... but she did not complain. It was the way of things. She looked at her young one as it was handed off to the young man. "Be aware that they will probably hatch within the next day or so... Be sure to keep it warm."
She took the marks with a smile. "Oh, Brownrider, you have given me an extra mark here..." She held out a single mark back to him... "The egg is only 25 marks..." She looked a little flustered and embarassed and Arro fluttered back to her shoulder to rub against her cheek while Max butted her head against her leg. "Thank you Arro, Max," she said to her flitter and to her canine.
She gave a soft sigh. Well... this was a good start at least... but there were still eighteen flitter eggs and four huntyre eggs left... Though she was hoping to keep at lest one flitter and one huntyre egg for herself... that didn't mean that she didn't want to make plenty of sales!
((I'll create a thread for everyone to post in when the babies are ready to hatch. ^.~ which shall technically take place the fourth or fifth day of the gather... So you may have to wait a lil bit. ^^'; Sorries.))

The young woman behind the stall picked up one of the smaller eggs, which R'hard guessed was one of the green's, and handed it to him. He took it gratefully and nodded at her instructions. "Alright, thank you."
He was about to leave when she shouted after him, and he quickly turned around. Sahar hissed from his shoulder as he tried not to jostle the egg and ended up jarring her instead. He raised an eyebrow in question, and then the vendor handed him back a single mark, explaining that he had overpaid.
R'hard smiled quizzically, staring at her. "Wow. One mark hardly seems worth the effort, but I admire your honesty." He grinned at her. It had been awhile since he had done any flirting...He shook his head to dispel that idea. This wasn't the time or place for that. Instead, he nodded to the seller. "Good luck with the rest of them." He was kind of glad he didn't have a queen or sub-queen of his own; he wouldn't know how to get rid of all the eggs.

Reina kept a close watch on her son as he sat at one of the tables. It was a curious sight. the boy would take a tiny piece of the roasted meat from the plate in front of him, tuck it close to himself at around stomache level. Somehow the meat would disappear and the strange operation would start again. He seemed happy though. No one had bothered him yet, so when the new egg stall was set up not too far away from the tables, she figured it wouldnt be a bad idea to grab one for herself.
She turned back to the stall, waiting until the brown rider had gotten his refund. She stepped up and gave the girl a kind smile, gesturing to one of the flit eggs. "What about this one miss?"

Simiia blinked and blushed. "Thank you... Honestly is very important... Especially in this trade." She bowed to him. "Thank you I certainly hope they all find good homes or I think I may have my hands more than full..." She winced slightly, thinking about all the mouths to feed. She gently scratched Coreena's eyeridges and watched him go... he seemed so nice. She felt butterflies in her stomach... oh no. That feeling was not something that she tended to indulge in regularly. She bit her lip for a moment and turned her eyes back to hte eggs just in time for her next customer to approach.
Simiia blinked. Another customer already! Oh! Faranth was being kind to to her today! "That one would be sixty marks, miss... But I am willing to let it go for 55 if that's okay...?" She wasn't always the most bold person there was and she felt like she might just be letting her wares go a little cheap... though the last one she had charged full price... he simply had over paid. She smiled warmly at Reina. This egg was one that held a lot of promise, she was sure. It had to be a king... maybe a sub-queen. But she would place her bets on a king. It was a good egg.
Coreena chirped in question as to the emotions hat roiled through hers for that split moment between customers, but fell silent again as Simiia gently picked up the egg and held it up for Reina's inspection and possibly for her to take it.

She stayed silent and used the excuse of not giving her blush an audience to check on her son again. Feeding the little brown no doubt coiled tightly against his stomache had stopped now. The boy kicked his feet happily. She could tell he was talking, but of course no one was around, so he was at it again. He'd started off only giving the flits images with his mind, but as he grew older he'd started to speak to them. So there he was, sitting all alone and talking to thin air.
Her son was going to be seen as a headcase... Wonderful.
Shaking her head, she turned back to the girl as she tried to lower the price for her. The egg she held out, the one that she had chosen was larger than most of the ones on the stand. It was a pretty color and the outside of the egg, unlike her son's brown'sshell was smooth. 60 marks? That was what she had budgeted for the whole gather... and she'd already spent more than she'd intended with her son's Dos.
A moment's more hesitation and she had decided. The flit could come with her, they could come in useful sometimes after all. But she would not cheat the girl out of her hard earned money or take charity.
She counted out the marks, sixty in total, and handed them to the girl. "I'll take it. But I will pay the full price. Larger eggs are usually a lot more difficult to get away from their mothers, so im sure you worked for it. Maybe It'll be a good companion for my son's brown." She smiled and took the egg gently from her.

It had been a long day for S'vrin, one didn't even have to look at the bronzerider for more than a moment to understand that. His eyes were blank, his hair free and left to wave around his shoulders instead of being pulled back, and his clothes were most definitely the same ones he had had on just the day before. The man had gotten little to no sleep, and most of it was either because of the two girls constantly fighting that often were around him, or because of the other leaders in the Weyr doing much the same. If Iirla and J'dol though the Weyr was a bad place because of what he had done, they should start to look at everyone else.
The wingleader hadn't even mentioned the rebels for a sevenday, instead talking about the Gather and other events. There were more important things, and there had been no more sudden disappearances in the last few sevendays as well. It had seemed that for now at least, the rebellion had gone silent, if not had died a timely death. He hoped for the second. The mutations he could start to live with now perhaps with a few adjustments, the rebels he could not. They stood for everything that had caused him trouble in the first place, and it was even worse that it was an Obsidianrider who led them.
If there was one of the new colors S'vrin had an aversion against, it would be the one that killed his beloved little sister. You're offly quiet Cozyiryth. The man sent a small thought to his Bronze, but the ignoring push that came back was answer enough, he was still sore about the other day. That too had taken a heavy bit of damage control to level out. Sighing, he shook his head, lifting it again to notice a familiar brown-haired girl. One that was familiar for two reasons now.
"Simiia!" He raised a hand, a smile breaking over his tired features at the sight of the trader. A few riders gave him odd looks, the outburst was just that out of character for him, but S'vrin ignored it and went over anyway, looking at the firelizard and huntyre eggs that she was selling. "So, finally getting these all nice and sold are you? Maybe...maybe I can help you out some again?" He looked at the list and nodded, he definitely could help her out, and the man funny enough didn't even think about why he wanted to. It was just a simple thing; she needed the marks, so he would certainly give them. The firelizards were just a happy happenstance.
"Why don't you pick out two for me? Any you think would be good."
(Roll came out Small 16, and Large 19...if only one then just randomize one of the two and yeah...>.>)

While Phobi was a darling, not to mention a loving companion, Goblenn admitted that he needed a companion of the same species. HE was not even a day old, and he was already becoming quite a handful. If he had wings, it would have bene easy for her to take care of; if he fell, he could easily fly back up to her shoulder. But no, he had no wings, so she had to be careful not to jostle him from his perch for fear of not being able to catch him on time.
Donned in her dark clothing and cloak (with the hood up to protect Phobi from the clouds, for he was convinced they were going to drop out of the sky and take him away), Goblenn looked about for another egg stall. She knew that there was supposed to be another one around here somewhere… Phobi shivered next to her neck, and she calmed him with a swift stroke along his spine. Ugh, where was it?
Aha! There! The thief strode towards Simiia’s stand. A quick scan proved that there was an ample number of eggs left, and she could easily wait until the crowd was in full swing to take an egg, but something in the back of her mind screamed otherwise.
Goblenn shook her head and made her way closer to the eggs. She knew for a fact that she didn’t want a Huntyre egg; that would probably send Phobi into a coma if he learned that he would have to live with a bird. She carefully placed a bag of marks into view of the flitter trainer. She didn’t even know if it had enough marks to pay for a small egg. Probably not. But that didn’t matter. Keeping an eye on those around her, she carefully moved to grab one of the flitter eggs. She didn’t know how big or how small it was, all she knew was that it was a flitter egg and it was going to be hers, shard it!
<OoC: Medium Flitter Egg, Number 1! And don't worry, Goblenn has more marks where those came from in case she gets caught. c:> [/size]

Ka'mond somehow found himself wandering the stalls. He was careful to not run into any people, paying close attention. The stand caught his eye, and he crept forward. Oh! Flit eyes! Like a young boy, Ka'mond peered forward, eyes glimmering with awe and excitement. His hand felt the leather sack of marks at his side, and he jingled the bag... He could buy two, small ones of course. But he would have little left over, if any at all...
Oh! But wouldn't it be grand? To have two of these wonderful critters to entertain him? The boy couldn't help it. He reached out, and randomly picked two eggs. The warmth of the smooth shell was thrilling, and he beamed. He would pay whatever he had to. These eggs were his.
Ka'mond looked about himself, walking to the woman who seemed to be in charge. "50 marks for two, right?" His hazel eyes were bright with sheer excitement. "I'll pay whatever I must."
<ooc: Any two eggs will be perfect. I really want an egg with a mutation, or deformity, but I know it is random... Could he have egg 7 & 11? Or really any egg would do... ^^' >

So it would seem Ar'rex had found himself standing before a healthy display of firelizard and huntyre eggs. He wanted a pet, this was true, and now seemed as good a time as any to pick an egg and see what little creature could be writhing inside. Ah but which one? The brownrider scratched at his jaw as he glanced over the different eggs again. Did he want a flit, like he had when he was a boy? Or should he give those birds a try?
Birds were messy and got feathers everywhere with all their molting, firelizards, depending on their personalities, weren't too much of a handful to raise. Nodding to himself as he reached a decision, Rex reached into his pocket and pulled out his marks, gesturing to one of the medium sized eggs off in the back. "I'll have that one." As he waited for the woman to pass him his specified egg he wondered if it was going to hold a nice blue or perhaps, if he was lucky, a small brown to terrorize Sithorath.

Thaden smiled happily as he walked passed all the different stalls. He couldn’t decide on which one he should stop at first, there were just so many to choose from. It wasn’t till he found a stall with quite a few people milling around it. He wondered what was so interesting about that stall, and just had to go investigate. He stayed back until most of the people had dispersed and went their separate ways before actually approaching the stall and the woman who was tending it. Never had a flitter before, do you mind if I take a couple eggs? He pointed to the two eggs that had peaked his interests the most, and took out his marks purse so that he could hand the woman the marks needed to purchase the two eggs he had indicated. He hoped she would let him have at least one of the eggs. At least then he would have a little bit of practice for when, and if, he ever impressed a dragon. After all, there weren’t all that many differences in caring for a firelizard and caring for a dragon were there?

Nym pulled the hood farther over her head as she wandered through the gather, though she was confident no one at Trelis would recognise her anyways; she had never been here before. She wasn't quite sure what she was looking for; she had a few marks to spend but so far she hadn't seen anything that really caught her eyes.
A small crowd around a nearby stall drew her interest and Nym found her feet automatically taking her towards them, curious as to what had draw such attention. Squirming through the crowd she noticed it was eggs for sale. Flitter eggs? Nym had never had a flit before, and she didn't really know if she wanted one... but maybe Iyiath would like a little friend. She pulled out her marks purse and counted what she had before glancing back at the prices.
"Hey! 'Scuse me. What do you say to one of those small sized eggs for 15?" Of course, if she really wanted the full price Nym would hand it over, but bartering was always fun.
Yufa wasn't far behind Nymari. She was here because her brother had asked her to pick up another Huntyre for him if it was possible, claiming Fari was getting lonely. She didn't mind, merely hoping she could get the egg to him before it hatched.
"Pardon me, Miss. Might I take that huntyre egg please?"
J'dol sighed as he lazily wove in and out of the crowd, looking for the egg stall Kayath had told him about. He wanted to do something nice for Ara, and what better way than getting her an annoying new flitter for that pain in the butt gold to boss around? He stepped up to the stall, sighing in relief as he noticed there was one left.
"'Scuse me beautiful? Might I grab that last fire lizard egg?" He called out, holding out the necessary marks for the egg. He hoped Ara would like it... having a flit that wasn't related to her Aries.

Hey, Kohenkyoth, what do you think about getting a flit or two? B'den asked his dragon as he paused by a woman selling clutches.
Kohenkyoth gave a mental snort. Too many of them are annoying. Just make sure you train them well if you get any.
With Kohenkyoth's "blessing," B'den smiled and drew out his marks, looking over the remaining eggs. There weren't a whole lot left, but he picked out two he liked the look of. "These are huntyre eggs, right?" he asked, gesturing to one of the eggs. "I'll take one of those, and..." A somewhat larger fire lizard egg drew his eye. "That one as well, please."

Skye had had just about enough of listening to her dragon complain. It was bad enough that she had already relented and told the green that she would get a darn firelizard, but now she was bombarding her with thoughts and images of what the female thought her rider ought to get. ENOUGH Kivith, please!!!!! I’m going, and if you don’t stop I won’t get a damn egg! She didn’t normally yell at her dragon, but even she had her limits. At least Kivith had stopped asking her about the egg, maybe then she would be able to think straight. She had actually come upon the stand that her green had shown her a lot quicker than she had anticipated. Oh well, she was here so she might as well get this torment done and over with. Who knows, maybe she might get another green, one that wasn’t as energetic as Kivith would be nice.
All the possibilities of what she could get from whatever egg she was handed kept running around in her mind. She actually felt almost as excited as she had the day she impressed Kivith, but nothing could happen to her that would stand a chance as being as exciting. I would like one of those small eggs please. She pulled out her purse, and waited for the woman behind the stall to tell her how much she owed. And still, all the possibilities of what might come from the little egg she had chosen to buy, kept rolling around inside of her head. Maybe she would be lucky and get a blue or a brown. Something that wasn’t typically as energetic as a green. After all, she wasn’t sure she could handle another hyper dragon. Yes, one of those was definitely enough.
