Before D'tri came in:
Sevrin snorted when someone, he wasn't going to think too hard about just who that someone was right now, mentioned why he was here. Except it wasn't in a helpful way, but more in a "you shouldn't be here" sort of way. Shaking his head the ex rider gave a little laugh as he rubbed Kaya's cheek. "Because, I was once a Wingleader, and I can help. Don't be a fool and allow those that wish to be here to give advice. Besides, I do actually know a thing or two about dealing with Thread, Holds and the Rebellion." He looked up at the person who had challenged his presence, challenging right back for the man to say anything more.
Alyara however took the moment to put in two of her own cents, having been brooding over the thoughts as J'dol spoke. Letting go of his hand, which she had either not known she had grabbed or had forgotten that she had done so, the greenrider looked up at Samara and J'degar. "I was supposed to be helping with the weyrlings....however, I believe that in the state of things," and here she looked at the two riders who had stepped down, "I would better serve as the new Candidatemaster. J'degar, I do believe you can handle these new weyrlings perfectly fine, and when the time comes for it, or if there is ever any reason, you can send the girls and those with female dragons to me."
"Do you agree that this might be a good choice?" She waited for the brownrider's answer, also looking toward the Weyrleaders and their Juniors for the same answers. However, it was at that particular moment that a certain well known Topazrider barged into the room, and the cryptic laughter Avirith had been having only moments before suddenly made sense.
After D'tri is in the room:
J'dol's sudden movement certainly didn't surprise his weyrmate, and in fact Ara laughed happily enough as she moved aside to let Sevrin get up and help the other two to their feet. The man held out his hand to D'tri first, his eyes relaying a specific message, one for just the two of them. Let us have bygones be bygones, but if you are here to hurt anyone, I will not take it kindly. This was his home now, these people were his family whether they wanted the "crazy uncle" or not that he provided. Once the two riders were straightened out Ara moved in to give D'tri a hug of her own, a smile broad on her face. "It is lovely to see you."
However, just as quickly Ara was back on track of the meeting. "What is your opinion on everything D'tri? I know you just got here but...I'm sure you have news of what has been going on....." Here she looked over at J'dol and bit her lip before finally sighing and going on. "To be honest about what you mentioned...the unknown riders being spotted from time to time, I met one. Well, became re-acquainted I suppose is more like it." She crossed her arms, shaking her head. "An'sif wouldn't be sticking his bandaged nose around here just for any reason D'tri. Noita must be planning something, I know none of the Sub-Queens there have clutched and a lack of movement must mean that the rebellion is at a stand still."
Taking a moment for that news to sink in, which was as much as she had mentioned it as presumption she knew as truth from Eiko's letters, another thing she wouldn't mention easily to anyone other than D'tri himself, Ara suddenly snapped her head up. A thought had crossed her mine, one so direct and uncertain, one so terrifying that she didn't want to ask it but had to. "D'tri...Inali, is she there? Is Inoria with her?" Her voice was pained, forced, and Aries hissed at the feelings from Hers along with the arrival of Iona. The two queens had never gotten along too well, and the Topaz hatchling was already getting on the firelizard's nerves. The shy male beneath the table was the final straw as the Gold shrieked and snapped her wings open, tackling Kaya who dove toward her.
"Enough!" The two stopped, Sevrin and Ara having said the order at the same time. The other two of Ara's trio hovered over the room, unhappy colors swirling in their eyes. "Firelizards should be out right now....I'm sorry, I should have had my own leave as soon as I came in." Aries hissed unhappily but left with her other two, the young Topaz following them reluctantly as Sevrin sent Kaya away as well. "Now....sorry for that interruption, but back to what was being said before..."
