J’dol ran a hand through his wet hair again, trying to shake out some more of the water on the way to the meeting room without getting his clothes too wet. He supposed S’vrin had waited long enough now. After the man had interrupted his otherwise fun morning, J’dol had fooled around a tiny bit more before hopping into the bath so he could be all squeaky clean for his favourite wingleader. Cozyrith. Have yours meet J’dol in the small meeting room. Kayath had passed on that particular message a few minutes before, no doubt S’vrin would already be at the meeting room by the time J’dol got there.
Skirting around the corner J’dol entered the room, smiling as if this was any other meeting on any other day. “Well now, S’vrin. I heard you wanted to see me? I do hope you weren’t waiting too long.” He grinned at the bronzerider and found himself a seat. Kayath, he knew, was outside lounging on a ledge and soaking up the sun.

The rider was currently leaning back against the wall, his eyes closed behind heavy lids, his arms crossed comfortably in front of his shirt. Giving a huge yawn that left his jaw aching slightly in that wonderful way, he opened one eye to observe the Junior Weyrwoman enter the meeting chamber. "I'd have assumed you'd be more...punctual J'dol." He ran a hand through the long locks of his hair, suddenly going from calm and passive to full of motion as his body pitched forward and then came to a stop hunched over the table, his arms criss-crossed beneath his head.
"I honestly don't understand how you lot get sleep here. It's so noisy with those dratted birds." He narrowed his eyes as he looked out the window to where a wild Huntyre was singing in a high pitched voice. Coziryth stirred at his rider's discomfort, picking up a dark forepaw and slapping it against the ground sending the creature into the air and flapping angrily away. "Much better thank you." Naturally though his voice held no real thanks, there wasn't much that made him thankful anymore.
"Why do you think I called you here? You weren't at the meetings, so someone has to fill you in on everything going on. Iirla wasn't at them all either so I suspect you'll pass this information along to her. The WeyrHealer told me that she has not been doing well under the stress lately, I am sure that between the two of us we can keep that stress to a minimum yes?" He lifted an eyebrow as he looked at the younger man, playing the part of the gentle friend like a Harper slipped into a well known but entirely false role of a stage character. It was a game he knew well.

"It's hard to be punctual when the meeting hours never reach you," J'dol replied, dropping rather unceremoniously into his seat. This particular wingleader's attitude tended to get on his nerves and the disrespect he received was uncalled for, to say the least. "I'm easy to find, you know." He added after a moment, "You just have to look for the giant orange dragon. I'm rarely far from her you know." He chuckled then as S'vrin actually acted like a real person for once.
"It's no different than the sounds of flits you know. You get used to it eventually. I would have thought a strong man like yourself would have no troubles with a bit of chirping." He followed S'vrin's gaze and chuckled at the poor huntyre, though he didn't truly find much amusement in it. There were many things he would rather be doing than spending his time with a stuffy man like S'vrin.
"It seems to me that you haven't bothered listening to a word I say, Wingleader." J'dol sighed, "I can't attend a meeting if you go off having them in secret. In the future, I expect you to have Cozyrith inform Kayath of meetings. All this trouble can be avoided." He chuckled, "Iirla isn't as weak as you play her out to be S'vrin. I'll pass on the message to her, but I'll have you know that you and Ar'rex are partly responsible for her stress. I do trust you will ensure we are both kept in the loop." He was all for being cooperative, but it took two to tango.

I don't like his tone of voice S'vrin.
You never like anyone's tone of voice you lazy wherrie, not be quiet. Your rider has work to do.
Ignoring the comment, the bronze uncurled himself from his ledge and looked over at the empty room that joined it. He needed to get out, he needed to spread his wings and feast on something, anything. His wings sighed as they released and unfurled to their full length, the golden bronze sails parting to their complete potential to catch the wind in a firm embrace. He had always loved the feeling of flight, but it was the way of the dragon to fly. It was how they were created.
Taking off, the dark king circled the Weyr Heights before diving toward the pens and taking a kill. He had watched the two females kill only the day before, and the memory had Coziryth tearing into the beast, letting it mess around him in its own hide and blood. All the bronze could think about was an orange hide, glowing with more than health. I will catch her, and then I will catch Izanycorth. No one beats us S'vrin. No one.
The bronzerider ignored his dragon as much as the dragon had ignored him. Even when the beast took down his kill, S'vrin was the same bored man he was before hand. "I'll make sure to do that J'dol. Honestly, I'm just trying to find ways to keep the Weyr together. Between the lack of leadership since T'rian is busy looking after his Weyrmate, and the chaos among the wings between those that want to join Noita's cause and those that think it's a waste of time and resources it has me exhausted, and you no doubt."
"The meetings were first and foremost to address that any help for the Rebellion will cause a one way ticket out of the Weyr. If they don't want to be here fine, we'll...send, them somewhere else." Although send would mean being taken to another Weyr that was for S'vrin's side, hidden away in a prison of sorts. Not that anyone out of his circle knew about that. Not even Noita knew that some of her beloved riders were there. "We also discussed the reinstatement of that Greenrider of yours as the Windbreaker's teacher. K'ur unfortunately has been seriously injured due to the battle, and we need a replacement. Given it is a small class, I'm sure even she can handle it."
"Furthermore, with Threadfall returning our way soon, we are going to be drilling the Wings with the newly graduated Weyrlings once the Gather is over. In the mean time, we just have to make due with them as back up. However, some did voice their opinion that the Senior Weyrlings are old enough to act as normal Wingriders despite not having graduated next."

Kayath lifted her head as the bronze mass that was Cozyrith caught her eye. He was a good looking fellow, there was no denying it, and he was all in all quite nice to her, but his hunting... Really Cozyrith, I would have thought a male of your stature would be more... civilized. She stretched out lazily on the ledge, watching him tear into the beast only a moment longer before deciding the view was mildly sickening, even for a dragon. Well, she wouldn't let a disgusting sight ruin her sunbathing, especially since her hide was practically shining in the light. J'dol's expression darkened slightly as he listened to S'vrin. The man seemed to like walking on thin ice. "If you recall, wingleader, T'rian is not Weyrleader and is not required to help s out in any way. The fact he makes time to assist us is something worth celebrating." He paused with a sigh. "Really S'vrin, I need you to stop trying to play the leader. It's the decisions you're making without going through the Weyrwoman that is causing so much trouble." He didn't want to play the blame game, he truly didn't. Some of the things S'vrin had done had been beneficial to the Weyr, but just as many, if not more, had been harmful. The actual content of the meeting caused J'dol to shoot up from his chair in anger. "You will NOT make such a decision without Myself or Iirla present. I will not have dragonriders dismissed from the Weyr because they are mutation loyalists." Was it because the topic hit close to home? Perhaps, but it wasn't just personal interest that had J'dol worked up. "There's omething more important going on than a couple riders leaving for the Rebellion. Thread falls S'vrin. We need every rider we can get." He sat back down, resting his elbows on the table, though his position was no longer relaxed or carefree. "If I hear that you're sending riders away without sending them to the Weyrwomen firts, the will be hell to pay, Wingleader. I hope you don't forget your place." Or soon J'dol would have a valid reason to revoke the man's rather powerful position. "I give you leave to transfer riders in your own wing to other wings if you feel they don't fit with yours. That's it." "Has this been mentioned to her at all?" J'dol sighed, feeling the pressures of the Weyr once more. He severely hoped Ara would stick around for after this meeting, Faranth knew he'd need company after this. "She quit her role as Weyrlingmaster for a reason. She may not wish to try again. There will be classes graduating soon, so a few of our current 'Masters should be free. I've heard Panille's class has shown great skill in their practices." Of course, if Ara did decide to take on the position he wouldn't stop her. He somehow doubted, however, that she was even aware of it. "We will need to have Ara attend a meeting about the position." At least this problem was an easily remedied one, and the next topic was a comfortable one as well. He leaned back slightly. "The older weyrlings have the skill to be integrated, though until their graduation I want them in the lower wings. I trust you and the other wingleaders have been keeping an eye on their progress? Have any preliminary decision been made on which weyrlings you'll be wanting in your wing?" He knew the technical decision wouldn't be made until after the Gather Games, but the Wingleaders had many opportunities to sit in on classes to judge teir future wingriders. No doubt the Wingleaders had already begun making decision that would simply be cemeted after the Games.

S'vrin allowed the outburst to go un-phased, he knew that J'dol would have other things to say instead. After all, the concerns of the rebels in their Weyr were secondary apparently to that of his current bedmate. S'vrin couldn't keep the smirk from his lips as he found the topazrider's apparent weakness. "Yes she did leave for a reason, that reason being the issues she had with S'bel and yourself. However, as I saw earlier this morning those issues are obviously resolved, and Panille is....unwilling to teach her own class now. Alyara is a decent enough teacher, even for a Greenrider. Sure I would prefer to place a Brownrider or Blue in her place, but they are needed in fall right now."
The wingleader rubbed at his temple as Cozyirth grumbled and continued to eat despite Kayath's annoying comments. It wasn't easy to keep emotions from one another, but S'vrin always did the best he could. The man did send one though though, just to be nice to the dragoness. The Bronze grunted a wordless reply, slowing his feeding and licking up the mess he had made on himself. "No there had not been any decision as of yet. Nothing is set in stone until the Games, it is fairest then. We have all kept an eye on the weyrlings yes, but we try not to choose favorites."
Not entirely true, but true enough S'vrin supposed. He had an idea or two of what he would like, but he wouldn't be telling that to J'dol now. Better him to think he was unbiased and trying to be fair. "The only other thing I would mention is this, Kayath and Izanycorth are both over due for their first flights. We are certain naturally that Golds will always fly and clutch, but the clutching abilities of the Sub-Queens at least are not as sure. Has she shown any signs of flying soon? Proddiness, flirtation, anything? The Wingleaders are concerned with there being enough clutching dragons at Trelis for this fall. If Izanycorth fails to clutch a Gold egg, or Kayath another Sub-Queen, it is very possible that we will request a transfer until such a time that another has been laid."
(Ooc: Just for reference, the talk would be far enough from the gather that Kayath wouldn't be showing too many signs, it would be fairly normal behavior still.)

Though he grimaced, J'dol did his best to let the jab slide by. "You know how it goes S'vrin. A good romp in the furs fixes everything. Maybe you should try it sometime. I'll even offer my services if you need them." Despite the joking words, J'dol's voice held little humor. He couldn't just play around with this man like he could with some others; a fact that annoyed J'dol to no end. Not only that, the man's opinions tended to rub him the wrong way. "I'm surprised S'vrin. I would have expected a Wingleader to understand the importance of all the colours. A good agile green is worth just as much as a sturdy brown." He pulled out a skin to write upon, making a few notes to himself. He wasn't against Ara teaching; on the contrary he though she did a good job of it. He just worried that she was going to be thrust into it without knowing.
"Have it your way, I'll speak to her about the position. I assume both J'degar and K'lin are unavailable. Do you have a back up if she declines?" He was doing his best to use his 'weyrlord voice' now. Faranth knew S`vrin would use any little outburst to his advantage. He hadn`t missed the fact he ignored the real issue of this meeting and he made a note to try to confirm the transfer problems.
J`dol gave the wingleader a searching look as the topic passed quickly on to the games. "Don`t lie to me S`vrin. You know as well as I that each wingleader probably has a favourite or two. That`s the point of it, after all." Yes, they were supposed to be unbiased, but in the end playing favourites didn't hurt much. The wingleaders were supposed to pick the young pairs that they thought would suit their wings best after all. The games were just meant to showcase the abilities one last time. "Well, wing placements are your jurisdiction anyways. I guess I can't expect you to share your secrets, can I." It wasn't a question so much as a statement. All things considered, J'dol didn't care where the weyrlings ended up as long as they could help the Weyr fight Thread.
J'dol snorted in amusement as S'vrin then asked about the queens. "You worry about dragon numbers and yet you insist on sending away mutant supporters?" He sighed, "I don't really think it's any of your business yet whether Kayath is proddy. You'll know when she rises." Maybe if he was lucky S'vrin would get tired of watching Kayath and somehow miss the flight. "As senior Weyrwoman, Iirla will be tasked with finding a suitable transfer if it comes down to that." J'dol didn't particularly like te idea of a new goldrider being brought in by anyone other than Iirla. Despite being new to the Weyr, she would have senority over J'dol and the topazrider wasnt feeling too happy about handing over control.
"Now, unless I'm mistaken, you didn't give me a confirmation that my orders will be followed, Wingleader. I'll say it again. No removing riders from Trelis without a Weyrwoman's permission. Is that clear?" He certainly didn't trust S'vrin farther than he could throw him and he wasn't going to leave this room until he was sure the order would be followed. Kayath shook her head as Cozyrith seemed to calm down his eating. Thank you, Cozyrith. I appreciate your efforts. Her tail flicked lazily on the ledge as she cotinued to sunbathe, and she was listening in on everything Hers was saying to Cozyrith's.

My suggestion S'vrin would to agree and get the shards out of there. He flicked his tail, dragging the left overs of his kill to the place where the drudges could make fertilizer or meals out of sloppy seconds for the weyrlings. Coming back he jumped up onto an opposite ledge from the Topaz, curling his tail around himself and yawning wide. Of course lovely Princess. Anything for you. Flicking his eyes from her back to the world around them he sighed a deep breath and let the rays from Rukbat beat onto his metallic hide.
S'vrin was smart enough to actually take his dragon's suggestion. "Of course, it was only talk after all. I'm sorry I did not make that clear before Weyrwoman. Transfers will be through Iirla and yourself with the input of the Weyrleaders, only because you both are new at your jobs and we have been here...for much longer regrettably. Trust me, age isn't something that's always good though, it comes with scars and bad backs." He smirked, itching a cut he had gotten from shaving that morning. "You'll see any transfers that the Wingleaders and Seconds had considered in a list on your desk this afternoon as soon as I finish getting all the input. Mostly they are names of riders that are either uncomfortable with the situation here or that are considered dangerous because of their...need to prove themselves as still part of The Rebellion."
"As for Weyrlings there is no fooling you I suppose, I don't like saying favorites, but I do have my eye on Yufa and her Braymoth as a possible Wingsecond or Third. They both show considerable promise, as do R'hard and Kaith." He leaned forward now, tapping the table lightly with his fingertips. "As for Alyara..." He turned his head as a loud noise caught his attention and a firelizard trilled. "As for what about me S'vrin? If you're meaning my taking over the next Weyrling Class, I'd suggest giving it to someone else. I like a challenge, and four Weyrlings are barely such a thing. I'll gladly take the next class to come along though, and since Izanycorth and Kayath will rise soon, I hope that Weyrlord J'dol will be kind enough to allow me the honor of taking on his Dragoness' children."
The greenrider stepped over to the young man, aiming to place a gentle hand on his shoulder. She had taken his hint, wearing a shirt she had been able to dig out of Faranth knew what pile. It was big on her though, extending down to mid-thigh, and so she had cheekily just sent her firelizard for a scarf from Avirith's bag she had brought and had woven it around to make it into a dress of sorts. The Gold was now draped around her shoulders, her eyes flicking toward S'vrin and then J'dol with red and orange colors. "Now, if you don't mind, I think that I should steal J'dol here. Iirla's dealing with paperwork and the Headwoman passed away the last sevenday and we need a new one appointed."

There was something about S'vrin that J'dol just couldn't trust and he knew it was bad for him not to put faith in his wingleaders... perhaps it was how quickly he changed face about transfering riders, or perhaps it was because J'dol just didn't trust anyone who seemed to have it out for the 'mutants'. Either way, J'dol wasn't entirely comfortable. Was there a loophole he wasn't seeing somewhere?
"I'm glad to hear it S'vrin, and I'm sure Iirla will be pleased as well." Perhaps he would call the riders in for private meetings after this list made its way to his hands... just to make sure of where they stood. "It really is most fortunate that there's so many years between us, Wingleader. I've always valued the opinions of my elders." Really, who was he trying to lecture! If J'dol had to guess, there' couldn't be more than 8... maybe 9 Turns between them. A sizeable chunk sure, but nothing to really gloat about. J'dol's eyes shot open in disbelief as the weyrlings were mentioned.
"I'm surprised S'vrin... I didn't expect you to be fond of a garnetrider." And to put a mutantrider into a position of rank within his wing... that was the most shocking of all. Well, no matter, J'dol was more than happy to know that the weyrlings were truly being looked at. His head shot back at the sound of Ara's voice, and he blinked in shock as she came over to deal with S'vrin herself. He supposed he should have told her to wait until the meeting was done but - Hello! J'dol smirked as he took in her outfit as she stood next to him. What were the chances she wasn't wearing anything underneath? Suddenly the meeting room didn't like such a bad place. It was only when he heard his name that J'dol snapped back to attention.
"Oh, yeah of course. We'll talk to Iirla about it." Shards she was an evil, evil woman... coming in here and distracting him. It was taking everything in his power not to lay a hand on her leg and find out just how little she was wearing. He coughed, looking away from Ara and back at S'vrin.
"Oh course, Wingleader, I'm sure the headwoman business can wait a few more minutes if there's anything else that needs discussing." As much as he would gladly follow Ara out of the room, he also had his duties to uphold. "I expect to see that list on my desk this afternoon. If you can't find me, Kayath can send my flit to you."

S'vrin never did get the chance to answer the younger man about his preference for the Garnetrider. However, he had his reasons. Better to keep those you didn't trust close until you understood them. The greenrider's outburst made his eye-brow perk though and he tilted his head to look at her. "Alright, if you think you can handle such a large class feel free." He dipped his head, his fingers still thrumming against the table.
Ara nodded to the Bronzerider, her face composed as she spoke. "Of course Wingleader. I will see you later today in drills I am sure?" The bronzerider nodded again, waving them off. "Get going you two, I'm sure the drudges are running like a wherry with its head cut off." Moving to take J'dol's arm Ara pulled slightly. "He's right, it's terrible, simply awful." She moved away, down the hall until they were out of ear shot. There she stopped, catching her breath and shaking the feelings off that she had been hiding.
"Aries just gave me the assignments for the Wing I'm in, that's why I came looking. It said temporary, and I know full well what that means J'dol. I am perfectly fine with being a Weyrling Assistant again, after all the whole reason I resigned is what S'vrin said. I'm older though, and more mature and can handle myself much better." She smiled softly at him, letting Aries between back to her clutch. "Oh, and we can head wherever we want to, that old hag hasn't kicked the bucket yet. Just thought you'd like to get free of him"

"it's been fun S'vrin, we should do this more often," He called back as Ara dragged him out of the room. He followed quietly at first, feeling truly sad that the poor headwoman had left them, but then she stopped and spilled the beans and J'dol couldn't help but grin. Before she could argue, he moved to press her against the wall and, if she let him, kiss her senseless.
"Wherever we want huh... I really wanted to put that table to good use..." It was taking all his will not to run his hands all over her and drag her back to an empty weyr. "Shards Ara, I never would have lent you my shirt if I knew you'd go and torment me like this." He dropped his head onto her shoulder and his own shoulders slumped tiredly.
"I'm not cut out for this weyrwoman business... " He murmured. He had tried, he truly had. S'vrin just got under his skin somehow, and he worried he hadn't addressed everything properly. "Are you sure you're okay with being Weyrlingmaster again?" There was worry evident in his voice, "You don't have to if you dont want to. We can find someone else..." The fact she had basically been forced into the position anyways bugged J'dol to no end. "I better not find out you're falling for someother student you know. I'll be very, very sad."

She laughed into his kiss, her arms reaching up and wrapping around his neck. "Well, well, if I didn't have your shirt then I'd have had to come in there with nothing. I don't think that would have done much more good, do you?" She smirked as she moved up to kiss him again, stopping short as he dropped his head instead and slumped against her. A gentle hand ran over his muscles and shoulders, massaging them. The rider always forgot that he wasn't all that much older than herself.
"You'll do fine J'dol, I know you will." She wiggled her hand between his chin and her shoulder, trying to pull it up to make him look at her. "I am fine. Besides, K'lin is Weyrlingmaster. I'm only an assistant. Not to mention if it keeps me out of S'vrin's Wing for a time then that's all for the better. Plus I'll be closer to the weyrlings and will be able to help them make the right choice." She let him figure out what she meant by that, though it was in her intention entirely to aid the next generation to figure out whether they would stand with the rebels or fight their own cause here.
"I wouldn't worry about another student either J'dol. Just like I shouldn't worry about whatever rider wins the position of Junior Weyrleader?" She made it a question, tilting her head slightly. "I've learned my lessons, still am to be honest. I...I care about you too much to hurt you like that." Ara chose her words carefully, a heavy pause filling the space between the first I and the second where her tongue rested at that space behind her teeth ready to say a very different word instead.

"If you didn't have a shirt on I can guarantee that table would be undergoing rather strenuous testing right now," He grinned playfully, his back arching into Ara's fingers with a soft groan. After all that de-stressing they had done the night before, his back was already becoming quite tense again. He didn't fight the sudden intrusion of her hand and looked at her.
"Well sooorry miss picky. I didn't realize you were so technical with titles," He teased, a rather big grin on his face. He grinned at her choice of wording, wondering how closely it related to her connection with the rebellion. He was surprised S'vrin was entrusting her to weyrlings, knowing she had been part of the group he was so against. "I'm sure under you careful, gentle guidance," He kissed her hand as he spoke, "They'll make all the right choices."
He moved to kiss her once more, though where the previous kiss was strong and wanting, this one would be gentle and caring; his own way of showing he cared for her. "I would worry about that Junior Weyrleader... though for different reasons... What if Kayath picks one of... one of them." One of the mutant haters. What if S'vrin or Ar'rex, or even one of their followers were given weyrleadership?

"Oh? Would it now?" A light chuckle parted her lips as she let her head roll back against the wall. Never had she thought a meeting chamber could double as something do fun. Then again never had she heard it like that from someone other than J'dol. At his poking toward the stressed title she couldn't help but laugh outright and shake her head. "This coming from the rider who is trying to start a revolution on the title Weyrwoman?" Her lips pulled up into a grin as she lowered her lips toward his shoulder and sighed gently.
Instead though she was cut off part way by his lips seeking her own and she returned the kiss as sweetly as he had sent it. There was something about it though that was more than tender and careful. It was...no she didn't dare say that word. Not that one. She continued to rub his back as he voiced his concerns, listening to his voice. "She wouldn't do that, and in the case she was caught I want you to know two things. One, you always have the right to choose who you sleep with. It doesn't have to be one of them. It could be anyone; another chaser, a random drudge.....me if you want me there." She paused for a moment, her eyes lowering before she took in another breath and continued, her chest rising and falling with the slowed intake.
"Two, is that the Junior Weyrleader aids the Senior Weyrleader and works with you. If they want things running smoothly then they must have at least his okay. Knowing Iirla, she cares too much for Vl'kan to allow Izanycorth to even consider anyone else." She smiled softly, letting her words take on a gentle and wistful tone without realizing it. Her eyes lowered, her fingers loosened their grip on him until they simply rested against his skin and her body slumped against his as much as he had her.
"You know Id never leave you if there was a chance you needed me....I love you too much for that J'dol. I can't help it." She let the words flow, only realizing the context and content too late. Her body stiffened, ready for whatever he had to say in return. She had ended up saying it after all and she hadn't even meant too. The words had just slipped out, but Faranth did they feel good. It was only a matter of time AraMine.

"If you so desired it of course." He chuckled. He hadn't ever put much thought into using a meeting room for 'fun', but it was hard not to have such thoughts with a half naked lover in the room. "Hey! There's a good reason. Namely that I'm not a woman." He pouted, "It seems I'm lacking the necessary parts. Calling me a Weyrwoman is an insult to all the pretty ladies out there. I'm doing it for them, really." Of course he was joking. He just hated being called a woman.
"I have the feeling kayath will do whatever she wants to do... remember how stubborn she was about firestone? I can't see her just rolling over and picking the male I tell her to pick." He sighed, "It's not the sleeping part that bothers me Ara, its the idea of giving them a position of power. As it is I can only deal with them because I outrank them... that could change soon." He knew he should be giving her some sort of consolidation... sweet words that he would pick her over his chasers... but he knew it was a lie. He wanted to use the excuse of a flight to be with someone for a night... If he had that, he could live with trying to stay loyal to her the rest of the time.
"You know the outcome of flights aren't always what everyone expects. Cozyrith could outmaneuver that garnet..." He didn't want to leave it to chance like that. He wanted to do his best to ensure at least one of them didn't make it into weyrleadership... as he had said though; it could be a game of chance.
He stiffened, and he felt Ara tense up as well. Those forbidden words... the ones that she hadn't said since that night in the forest. There was silence... a rather long silence as J'dol tried to figure out what to say.
