"Don't tell me that!" J'dol whined, his shoulders sagging in defeat. Raising Kayath had been hell at times, so the idea that the topaz would be the easy one made him feel defeated already. He was so not ready for this, not at all. He raised his hand in invitation, letting the bronzerider know he was welcome to come in if he wanted. He glanced over to smile at Jarali as she showed signs of waking up. "I don't know T'rian... how could something that cute be any trouble?" Ah, the innocence of a new father! Without a doubt, J'dol would learn quickly how very right T'rian was.
Out of the corner of his eye, J'dol noticed the blush on Ara's face, and for a moment worried that something was wrong, at least until she looked away. A knowing smirk pulled at the corners of his mouth and he gave her hand a light squeeze, a silent way of saying she had better be prepared; he planned on kissing her senseless once they had privacy. Looking back at Sevrin, he noticed how uncomfortable the man seemed to be, and he couldn't help but feel a swell of pride at Jarali; his baby girl had already found a way to get under Sevrin's skin! He almost felt sorry for the guy, it seemed Jara had quite the grip already, so J'dol stood and reached to take her back.
"Who would have guessed the great Sevrin would get hurt by a little girl." He grinned, cooing down at the bundle in his arms as he returned to sitting by Ara, his mumbled words sounding an awful lot like 'who's my little girl, picking on the big bad Sevvy'. He glanced up with an almost offended look on his face at Ara's jest, looking at her with mock hurt. "Hey I listen sometimes!" Namely when he was getting what he wanted, as Ara knew too well. He tossed her a wink before his expression changed to one of confusion. He glanced from Ara down to Jarali. Surely no boy would ever try to take advantage of his little girl right? Right? Ooooh he would need to find a good stick. He'd beat the stupid buggers off! Nobody was going to mess with his little girl!! His protective feelings were clear on his face.
"Do you want to hold her T'rian?" He motioned that the other man could take her if he wanted.
