She could only listen to him, feel him tense. Had she just ruined everything that they had begun? They had just, finally, stayed together. They had only just admitted to feeling something more than friendship and desiring a pursuit of those feelings. The greenrider was certain she had thrown it all away. His words, so soft that at first she barely registered them, played in her head again and again as her mind tried to connect the tone with the meaning. Did he mean it; and yet his next words were the answer to that question as well.
It hadn't been a returned conffesion, but from J'dol it was just as good if not better. Holding him tighter, she nuzzled up against his body and under his chin knowing full well that he could pull away if he wanted to. Part of her wanted to answer him, part of her thought that no answer was the best choice. Flicking her green eyes up to his, widened by uncertainty and entirely unguarded as they had been somewhat last night and for many nights prior, she closed them and took in a breath.
"I suppose that's more than I deserve. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that...those words. I know the agreement we made, I know my place. Thank you though, for trying." Her words were slow, monotone almost in her attempt to keep herself from throwing out her feelings. She stole herself away, locking her true feelings again in a deep part of herself, not wanting them to see the light of day ever again. They would only get hurt or hurt someone else, and neither was an outcome worth living. She pulled herself up on her tip toes, her eyes still closed but her body searching for some sort of confirmation that they had moved on past that rough space of a few minutes.
Before she could kiss him however, or he her, a voice coughed and she turned her head toward it. It was a drudge, an older man, and he had a kitchen worker's garb on. "Yes Kiverre?" The rider turned entirely, her back against J'dol's body or in front of it showing her attention was to the drudge now. "Sorry to disturb, but the Headwoman...." Ara groaned, shaking her head. "Keeled over? Well, not entirely sorry about that. That woman was a terror." The drudge bowed his head, the slightest uplift at the corner of his lips. "Thank you Kiverre, I'm sure Weyrlord J'dol and Weyrwoman Iirla will see to it. Won't you?"
She tilted her head back to look at the Topazrider behind her.
