Tiris is a very tall, and skinny young man. He is 6'3" and weights 160 pounds. Even though he's so tall and skinny, he's got muscles. He's no weakling, but since he prefers to avoid confrontations, he doesn't show his muscles off for any reason. Except for one. The only time he really proves he's got muscles, is when he is defending those who are too weak to defend themselves, or are out numbered. Even then, he usually regrets doing so, for some reason or another.
Tiris has deep, bright, soulful brown eyes, and is very expressive. He's not afraid to show what he's feeling. He has light brown hair that seems to just lay there. His hair is chin length, but looks really clean, and neat. Despite the fact that he usually looks like he just rolled out of bed. Even though all of his clothes are all wrinkled, and almost never folded, they're really clean. This is because he wants to make sure he's ready for just about anything.
Tiris' clothes are normally dark colors. The only exception to this is his dress clothes. His dress clothes consist of white shirts, and soft, comfortable, leather pants. He also owns a really nice pair of leather boots that he has set aside, and wears only with his dress clothes. Other wise he wears dark clothing that is actually really comfortable. These clothes are very durable, one of the many things that makes them appeal to Tiris.
Personality:
Tiris is a very, very sweet man. He cares about everyone, and everything. Well, almost anyways. The one thing he can't stand, are bullies. Anyone who picks on people, or creatures smaller, or weaker than themselves, is an enemy in his eyes. Even though he prefers the diplomatic approach, he isn't afraid to throw his weight around when it comes to standing up for those who are unable to stand up for themselves. Helping others is what he lives for, and what makes him happiest.
Tiris is a very studious, and diligent person. He's hardworking, and dedicated in everything he does. He also likes to read, and swim. Those are his favorite past times, but he doesn't get upset when he can't do either of them. It just makes him work harder so he has more time for the two activities that help calm him down. He's very skilled with his hands, and likes to make things with them. Since his father was a woodcrafter, and his mother was a weaver, he's had a lot of practice with his hands.
Tiris prefers to work with wood than with cloth. Though, instead of spending the marks to either get new ones, or get his clothes fixed by some weaver he knows nothing about, he patches his own clothing. He likes to make things for other people, and will sit some where, and work with some wood, and if, or when, someone asks him, he'll either carve, or sew them something. He doesn't like to brag, and is actually very soft spoken. Some people have even said he's go the patience of a saint.

History:
Tiris' was visiting his aunt and uncle, and his older cousin because his parents had their hands full with his older brother and sister. So Tiris was sent to spend the rest of the fall and winter with his mother's sister, and her family. He got to see what it was like to be a trader, and have to move from place to place. He didn't really like it at first, but knew no matter how much he complained, he couldn't go back home until spring. He did get along with his cousin, and was starting to enjoy the time they got to spend away from work so that Ninalin could try to teach him how to be an effective trader.
Tiris was actually starting to enjoy the time he got to spend with his aunt and her family when they arrived at Trelis Weyr. They were there to buy some supplies, and this was actually Tiris' first time in a Weyr. So he had asked his aunt if him and Ninalin could look around, or more or less, show him around. Ninalin had been to the Weyr, and many others, a few times, so he knew quite a few interesting places to show Tiris. The first place he was taken to, was the hatching sands, so that Tiris could see what a dragon egg looked like.
Tiris and his cousin were on the way to the sands when they were stopped by a blue rider and his dragon. Neither of them really understood why they were being asked questions about what they knew of dragons, but they answered anyways. After asking them about a hundred questions, that's what it felt like anyways, the rider finally told them why he had stopped them. Neither of them could believe their ears. Tiris had just been searched out by this man's dragon. Ninalin had ran back to tell his parents what had happened. They immediately came to see for themselves.
Tiris had to make the decision to either stay in the Weyr as a candidate, or leave with his family, and go back to trying to become an apprentice. Some would say that would be an easy decision, but for Tiris, it wasn't. He had to decide between his family, or a potential chance to find a life partner in one of the hatchlings. Eventually though, he decided to stay, and sent a letter back to his parents letting them know what had happened. He was happy when his family sent a reply, saying that they were happy for him, and wanted him to let them know as soon as anything happened.
Tiris has been living in Trelis for a few weeks now, and so far is enjoying himself. He especially enjoys the fact that he gets to see dragons every day. Even though he's seen more than a few of the large creatures up close, they still manage to impress him, and make him stare at them in awe. He hasn't yet had the chance to experience a lesson as a candidate, but he is eagerly awaiting his chance. For some strange reason he has the notion that by doing everything just right, he has a better chance at impressing one of the creatures during the next hatching...though...that seems quite a ways away.

It was because he was so awkward looking, wasn't it? He eyed the speaking girl warily, his form shaking a little as she spoke. People thought he wasn't good looking? It was the stripes on his wing wasn't it? That green one looked awfully infected, didn't it?! Oh no oh no oh no he was going to d-d-DIE?!?!? The opal balked, a strange scared-whine came from his throat as tried to run away, tripping over his own feet in the process of getting away.
Noooo! He cried. Was his ankle twisted now? What if it was broken!? He gingerly put pressure on his legs and, when no pain came, chirped in glee. He was alright! He wasn't going to die today! But.. what if that fall into the sands had contaminated him with some infectuous disease! Oh someone CALL THE HEALER! The opal moaned about his imaginary injuries and buried his head back in the sands for a few moments more before a realization hit him.
What if something happened when a healer wasn't around? He unburied his head again timidly and looked at the gathered candidates. Oh they were a right mess, what with the blood and torn clothing. Oh no! WOuld they be able to infect him with some blood disease!? Maybe someone from the crowd would be better... oh but they all let the white robed ones get injured, so surely they wouldn't do... He needed someone to be his bed-side doctor.
The girls all looked quite lovely... and that one, Daria, she had tried to comfort him in his time of need. Maybe she would work? Ooooh but what would he say to her! He was no good with women! M-m-maybe a boy then? Yes a boy would understand him. A boy wouldn't pity him like the girls might. He buried his head again and tried to figure out where the pull was coming from. Ah there! Or at least he hoped it was that boy... was something wrong with his abilities? Oh no were his headknobs broken?! A quick bat of his head with a claw told him that no, his headknobs were just fine.
That must be the boy there then! He seemed so kind... surely he would help nurse all the Witchdoctor Opal's wounds. T-T-T-T'ris! He called, I-I'm so worried! I think I may have hurt myself! D-Do you know about injuries? They're so dangerous and your Widelmath doesn't want to die today... or ever really... Can you see if I'm okay from there? O-Or it would be really great if you came over here... Oh no! Is that a new stripe?! He buried his head in the sand once more.

T’ris has actually learned quite about healing during his time with Widelmath. It shocked a lot of people to find out that the little Opal was surprisingly good when it came to dragon healing. Despite all of Widelmath’s concerns about things being wrong with him, he has proven himself to be quite useful on more than one occasion. The main thing that had jump started Widelmath’s concern about others more than himself was when Loraketh died. Both himself and his rider had felt so helpless during that time. But now the two are working night and day to prove to, not only themselves but, the entire Weyr that they aren’t helpless, and that they have a purpose in this world. Whether or not they will find this purpose in Trelis Weyr or someplace else is yet to be seen.

It's not easy to wake this large brown in the morning, nor is it always a good idea. If you wake him up with food either near by, or with a promise to get him food, then he'll get up, Other wise he'll just complain and then fall back to sleep. He's more lively around the after noon, as long as it's after ten thirty in the morning, he's active.
Buster almost always falls asleep right at nine at night. He is a very mean flit whenever his sleep is interrupted, or he isn't allowed to go to sleep when he feels he is supposed to. Despite all of his "issues" he is a very lovable firelizard. He is also pretty protective of Tiris and Max, or in other words, his family. The one thing he is possessive of his is food. Never, I repeat NEVER try to take this firelizards food away from him. If you do, then you're looking for your fingers to get taken off. Well, mostly taken off.

Buster is a very large brown, with very large wings. He is very well muscled, and he needs to be, he's tad over weight. So he needs all the strength he can get to keep him in the air. He is usually seen with his tail wrapped around Tiris' neck, and sitting on the young man's shoulder. He looks very proud while sitting on His' shoulder. With his large wings tucked neatly at his sides, and his sharp claws holding on to the young man's shirt.
Buster is a burly wood in color, that fades to sienna around his underside. His wings are the color of corn silk, while the markings on his feet look like Peru colored socks. He has these strange "socks" on all of his claws and legs. They come up to about his knees. This isn't a very "normal" looking firelizard to say the least. In all though he does look very well put together. He is well proportioned, except for his wings and his belly. His wings are exceptionally large, and so is his stomach.

Widelmath is a bit of an oddity. While on the smaller side of the size scale for opals, he often appears larger than his brethren. It could be, perhaps, because his legs and neck are so abnormally long. In fact, all his libs are long, even his wings and tail. His body, however, is a very normal size, making it look completely out of proportion with the rest of him. His muscle mass is smaller than average, and he will have to work hard to keep up with the other dragons in the sky, but on the ground this guy will excell. Long legs make him quick and almost graceful on the ground...at least when he's not being an absolute clutz!
Like most opals, his hide has a variety of colours, though they tends towards the cooler colours. A hide of off-white makes up majority of his colouring. His front right and back left legs are a soft, mossy green, while the other legs are a deep grey-blue. the two colours appear again on his tail, and face. His belly, and the hand section of his wings are a soft purple, which also appears in a stripe on his muzzle. All three colours appear on a band on the primary wing finger of each wing.

Widelmath always thinks something is wrong with him. It’s actually a fear. Is that leg longer than this one? Is that a new spot on his hide? Does his tail look funny to you? Maybe he's sick! Despite his fear of being unwell, he's actually an incredibly smart dragon, especially when it comes to injuries. It seems he has a natural born talent for telling what's wrong with others and can be a great asset when it comes to dealing with injured dragons. He's a bit nervous, especially around females that he likes, and he has no idea how to flirt. When it comes to trying new things, Widelmath will likely never be the first one to jump in and try (it might be dangerous you know!) and he tends to ere on the cautious side. Even though he is still very cautious, he is a little less afraid that something is wrong with him. Well…he doesn’t voice his concerns about himself as much as he used to, instead he has turned to worrying about others.

Widelmath's voice is, in the best of times, a bit shaky. It's almost as if he's constantly afraid of something, and it shows in the way he speaks. It can be a rather frantic sound at times, and its no surprise to hear it get louder and louder as he gets more upset. Even his rider will likely want to tune him out now and again, just to escape the sheer volume.

Widelmath is a bit of an oddity. While on the smaller side of the size scale for opals, he often appears larger than his brethren. It could be, perhaps, because his legs and neck are so abnormally long. In fact, all his libs are long, even his wings and tail.
