Morgause
Emilia Fox
Name:
Morgause
Pronunciation:
More - goes
Age:
26 Turns
Season Born in:
Summer
Gender:
Female
Sexuality:
Heterosexual
Appearance:
Morgause is a tall, slender woman who is five-foot-six-inches tall. She weighs one hundred and thirty-one pounds. Most of her height comes from her long, slim legs which are actually surprisingly strong. After all a woman has to be able to take care of herself one way or another right? Anyways, she appears to move with a kind of serene grace that belays the strength hidden in her sinuous muscles. She knows how to accentuate her slim figure with clothes that appear to be too tight but are actually quite comfortable. They are made of a material that is light and flexible enough to allow her to move as she pleases. She has chest length blonde hair that has a natural waviness to it. She prefers to let her hair hang free but she has learned how to weave a few small clumps of her bangs through her hair to keep it from falling into her eyes. Speaking of her eyes, they are large pools of shimmering chocolate that, despite her best efforts, seem to show just a little bit of what is really on her mind.
Personality:
Morgause is a manipulative woman who believes she is destined for great power. She has learned over her twenty-six turns of life that things don’t always go as planned, and has learned to take all of the little “hiccups” with a calm grace that hides the fact that she is actually a pretty uncaring person. Well, the only person she Really cares for is herself. She loves being the center of attention and believes the talents she has in her craft have all added to the efficiency with which she gains the attention she so craves. She won’t pass up an opportunity to show off her skills in one way or another if ever given the chance. But despite all of this, she isn't as abrasive as a person might think. She does have some nice qualities though, it just might take some time to find them. Like the fact that she tries not to invade other's personal space.
Morgause might be manipulative, uncaring, and power hungry but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a heart. After all, a person must protect those that were born to serve them right? Well that’s what she keeps telling herself anyways. She absolutely can’t stand bullies and despite her smaller size, she will often place herself between the bully and the one being bullied. I guess this is actually one way she gets the attention she craves but it does help give people a better view of her. That might be why she does it. Well, in any case she isn't one to talk about it with anyone or anything. She likes her privacy and feels that anyone that needs to ask her something personal should be thrown off the tallest mountain on Pern. Not that she would actually say that to someone.

Morgause’s family has been farming the land near Apolla Hold for many turns, but ever since she was a young child she has shown more aptitude for singing and dancing than she did working the land or weaving like her mother. Her interest in the Harper craft can be attributed to the gather that her family had taken her to when she was a very little child. She was so entranced by the flowing movements of the dancers, the soft melody of the singer’s voice, and the way everything seemed to just come together to make something that she believed was truly amazing. Molaus, Morgause’s father, had always shown more interest in the land than he had with people. So it didn’t surprise his parents when he took over the farm after his Father, Monan, and mother, Talaousy, retired.
Molaus was only twenty-two when he became the soul care-taker for the family farm. Though it would have made his parents happier if he had allowed his brother to come and help him, he decided to, not only take care of the farm, but take care of both of his parents as well. His mother was quite pleased with this for the simple reason that she could continue to take care of and protect her youngest son. Regaine, Morgause’s mother, took after her parents in more than one way. She looked like her mother but had the hard determination of her father. She had the talent of both of them, and from a very early age knew she would be a Weaver when she grew up, one way or another. She was delighted to have a little sister to use as a test dummy for any and all clothes she tried to patch up or fix any way she could.
Things seemed to only get better when Regaine’s younger brother was born, though he wasn’t always pleased with being the test dummy for two giggly little girls. She didn’t stay a giggly little girl for long though. She was taken into the Weaver hall when she was fifteen and became a Journeywoman Weaver when she was 24. Shortly after she became a Journeywoman she had to return home in order to help take care of her sick mother. No one was really sure what had made Gaenis sick at first, but soon it was apparent that there was something wrong with the old woman’s lungs. She was too stubborn though, and it only took two months for the old woman to be up and about yelling at the little kids to be careful and not to run too fast or they would get hurt.
Gaenis was the old lady that always had treats for the little kids and was always making clothes for them in her spare time. It was her way of making herself feel needed once she retired. Her husband was the old man that always yelled at the kids to stay away from the little trees he tended and was very protective of. Now the two of them live with their son, his wife, and their kids. But Gaenis always finds a way to stay in contact with her other children and grandchildren, no matter where they are. Molaus met Regaine when the two of them were in Apolla Hold. Molaus was there trading his crops and Regaine was there making clothes for the lord holder and the two of them seemed to fall instantly in love with each other. But at first things didn’t really work out.
Molaus wanted Regaine to come and live with him, and give up her life as a Journeywoman Weaver. But Regaine wasn’t ready to give up her career and start a family just yet. She loved Molaus, just not enough to give everything up just yet. It wasn’t until four turns later that Molaus got the surprise of his life when Regaine showed up at Apolla looking for him. She had traveled to Trelis and had spent four turns there but when she saw all the weyrbrats without parents, she sort of fell apart a little. In her free time she would make children’s clothes. It had taken Regaine four turns to realize that she actually did want a family. She had actually been tempted to take a few of the weyrbrats with her when she went to find the man of her dreams again.
It wasn’t exactly hard to find Molaus; his patterns hadn’t really changed all that much in four turns. They were married that winter and had a little girl nine months later in summer. Molaus was proud of Morgause, but it was more than obvious that he wanted a son. But then again, don’t most fathers want sons to take after them? He didn’t push Morgause much, but he wasn’t exactly supportive either. Regaine was always trying to help her daughter as much as she possibly could, but she knew very little about Harpers or their craft. So she was obviously happy when she had a daughter that enjoyed weaving about as much as she did. Morgause didn’t act like her mother had when her younger siblings were born. Instead she drew away from them, and pushed harder to become a Harper.
Melaine was the second born child and never really had a relationship with her big sister. Instead she was more like her mother, and spent more time with the woman than Morgause did. She even became a weaver like her mother. Rogaun was the typical younger brother who got into everything and caused a lot of headaches. Of course he eventually grew out of it and started learning from their father how to work the land. Something he showed great interest and talent for. Then another sister was born, Relaise. She is probably the only one in their family that can really get through to Morgause, and the only one that the woman really ever loved. Laine was the next child to be born, but thankfully for him he had an older brother to look up to and is now also learning to become a farmer like his brother and father.
Morgause had been pushing her parents and anyone else she could, to let her join the harper hall and even went so far as to ignore her chores and run off to practice her singing or dancing so that she might have a better chance of being allowed to join the ranks of the Harpers. Morgause was ecstatic when she finally got word that she was being allowed to join the Harper Hall and immediately went to pack her things so that she could leave as soon as she could. Then Gaousy was born, and looked up to Melaine for the simple fact that Morgause was already in the Harper Hall as an apprentice. So the young girl was, what some would say safe, from her eldest sister who didn’t seem to like the fact that she had so many siblings. She was very happy for the fact that she had gotten out of there as soon as she could.
Though Morgause would miss Relaise she wouldn’t miss the rest of them. Nor would she miss the farm either. She was amazed at all the different people at the Harper Hall and it took her a few days to get settled in. But once she did she proved that she was a quick learner and practiced every chance she had. She excelled at singing, dancing, writing, and drawing. But showed little interest in anything else, in fact the thing she hated worse was trying to learn how to play the instruments. But her teachers felt that she would do better if they worked more on her strengths than trying to improve her weaknesses. Morgause was allowed to walk the tables at the same time her little sister Relaise became an apprentice. Morgause would have liked to spend more with her little sister as an apprentice.
But Morgause was still extremely happy that she was finally working her way up the ranks. She wanted to prove to her father that she was useful, and worth something. So she worked night and day trying to improve her skills, just as she had when she first joined the Harper Hall. She was very happy when she was assigned to Trelis to learn from the Weyr Harper there. She viewed the Weyr as a great starting point for her dream of great power. She believed that if she could inject herself within the higher ranks of the Weyr she could easily manipulate her way to great power, and what better power was there than the dragons that protected the skies? And so, begins another chapter in the life of the oldest child in a very large family. She has been at Trelis for a little over three turns now, and has even managed to find herself a couple of Huntyres as well.
Morgause has since started training them to join her performances. The first one, a Sunset Huntyre she has called Nezzie; she found the colorful female her first turn at the Weyr. The other, a Lunar she has decided to call Talut, was the more recent to join her. Now her and her two Huntyres spend their time entertaining the Weyr and looking for more ways to increase their power and influence. Who knows what fate holds in store for this one of a kind woman, but one thing is certain, her life will never be the same.

Pronunciation:

Age:
3 Turns
Type:
Huntyre
Rank:
Sunset
Size:
1.25 Feet
Color Codes:
Body: fd7d72
Markings: ffbb29, ffd27a
Appearance:
Nezzie is among the larger sunset's a Trelis, though by no means is she the largest. She's a rather striking huntyre, with feathers in a variety of bright pinks and oranges to draw attention. Her belly, neck and back is a soft, but vibrant, rosy pink speckled with minor variations reds and whites. The feathers along the top of her head are strong orange colour, as are the tips of her wings and tail feathers. Around each ring is a thick band of yellow that appears more orange towards the center of the ring. Nezzie is a fluffy female, with thick, volumous feathers that, when puffed up, can make her appear quite intimidating.
Personality:
Proud, Mothering, Demanding, Vain
Like many sunset's, Nezzie has a typically sweet and mothering disposition. At least, she does as far as her family goes. She's a proud female, believing herself to be the protector of her bonded and Talut and would go to any lengths to keep them safe. With them, she is always a sweet and cuddly huntyre. However, when it comes to strangers, Nezzie shows a whole new side. Where she is sweet and loving to her family, she is vain and demanding of others. She won't hesitate to boss a newcomer around to suit her needs, and it takes a while for strangers to become trusted by her. Anyone lucky enough to make it into her inner circle will eventually discover the sweetheart she truly is.

Color Codes:
Body: e0eeef, b9b7ca
Head and Tail: 1c688a, 64adcd
Crest and Wings: 95f8c2, 1c9e56
Appearance:
Where Nezzie is fluffy and cuddly, Talut is sleek and strong, despite his small size. Streamlined for speed, Talut is long and thin with slim, sharp wings and a long tail. He is, first and foremost, a colourful lunar. Talut is primarily a bright silvery-white, though in the right light it is possible to see that his silver feathers are tipped with a faint hint of purple. His head and tail change into a vibrant, striking blue, while his crest and flight feathers are an equally vibrant green. The edges of his crest and wings are a lighter, green.
Personality:
Submissive, Fun loving, Trickster
This lunar loves to have fun, no ifs, ands, or buts. Talut lives for the adrenaline of a good trick; scaring a friend, sneaking treats from a bowl, moving objects to freak others out, the list goes on and on. He can be quite troublesome at times, and no doubt his tricks will sometimes bring His trouble, but he never seems to think about the consequences. He isn't all trouble however. He's not the bravest lunar around, and he knows his place in his family's heirarchy. Talut is not the type of lunar to fight the orders of Morgause or Nezzie and he trusts both with his life. Strangers beware though... just because he can be submissive doesn't mean he won't pull pranks.
