Oh this was bad! It was certainly bad! Yufa paced through the corridors, a worried expression on her face and a tenseness to her body that was quite unlike the normally prim young woman. Normally, Yufa quite enjoyed training as a healer. She enjoyed working in the infirmaries, listening to others while she bandaged up minor aches and pains, and she even enjoyed the fear and blood that came with the job from time to time (something she was positive was an offshoot of Braymoth's feelings, not her own).
Normally she didn't even mind transporting goods to and from the storerooms. At least she hadn't until the other day. She supposed no one had expected her to come by the storerooms at that time; it was late at night and she had kept the glows dim to avoid blinding anyone she ran into. However, on the way back from the stores she had overheard something that made her blood run dry.
She kept telling herself it was only a rumor, harmless and innocent as long as it was given no attention. Who was she to go passing on the rumor anyways? It was simply better if she stayed quiet... no one would get hurt that way right? The rumor would just stay a rumor and that was that.... Or was it her duty to report such a thing? Oh she just didn't know! I thought you were on the way to the baths. Your endless mental prattering is getting on my nerves.
Braymoth was right, she was just getting to worked up about this. She switched her towel and bag of sweetsand to her other hand and stepped into the baths, hoping there wouldn't be any men there; she hated bathing with others... it just felt so improper! Well, she didn't SEE anyone at first glance, so she quickly disrobed and stepped into the waters, sighing at the warmth. Yes... she just needed to forget all about it... Even still, her brow was furrowed in unease and worry.

Ka'mond wasn't sure why he was still awake. He should be buried in his furs in his room listening to Abyrath's soft snoring.. but no. Here he was at who knows what dreadful hour! His body ached, his muscles sore and tense. His hair was showing signs of dirt and grease as well. A bath wasn't a bad idea.
Certainly no one else would be up now? Normal people were sleeping of course! Right? Ka'mond's tunic and pants fell to the ground and the boy disappeared in the steamy waters. His white-blonde hair darkened to a golden dirty color as it was wet. Ka'mond slipped deeper into the warm pool, feeling his body loosen and relax.
Abyrath stirred in her sleep, mind whirling with confused and dreamy thoughts and half- formed questions to Hers.. Too... tired.. zzzzzz Mine? Where's Mine...? Zzzzzzzzzz.... Abyrath's mind blurred to sleepy greyness once more.
Ka'mond had scrubbed his hair, and it now was spiked and ruffled ridiculously on his head. He chuckled to himself at his image, shoulders and part of his tan chest visible. A nearby splash made him go stiff. Curiously and nervously he looked toward the noise and seemed to jump out of his skin. Yufa! Oh Good God! With a stiffled yelpish noise Ka'mond covered his face and turned around as quick as possible, successfully managing to stub his shin on a rock. "Ow!" He exclaimed feeling dizzy. Why did it have to be a girl in the waters? Where some boys were fresh and rude and would purposely peep, Ka'mond was horrorfied to see anyone like that, and even more ashamed he'd not been more careful. How rude and careless he was! He'd definately apologize to Yufa when he could.. Oh man.. he was screwed!

Yufa jumped at the sudden yelp, spinning quickly to see who was there. She had thought she was alone! How foolish of her, she must not have seen him in her distraction! She sunk deeper into the water, her hands immediately moving up to cover herself, despite the steamy, churned water that made it near impossible to see below the water.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't realize anyone was here..." She finally said quietly, worried that whoever it was had hurt himself. She glanced over at him, recognising him after a moment; he looked quite different with spiky where. "Ka'mond? Is that you? Oh dear... you aren't hurt are you?" She didn't move closer, despite her healer instinct urging her to investigate. She hated being so exposed next to anyone, and a man was worse than anything! She supposed she was lucky at least that Ka'mond seemed to be a decent person, the way he had turned around did help her feel more comfortable. {{Sorry for the shortness}}

"No I should have been more careful. Its such a late hour.. I didn't think anyone would be here either.. I'm so sorry Yufa.. This is not how anyone should meet another..."
Ka'mond was so embarrassed! What would his mama say? She's no doubt pop his butt and give a lecture on manners. How horrible of him! Reddness had warmed his face and Ka'mond felt let he was sweating.. His shin stung and would likely be bruised but it was nothing. Just a pain but it's go away.
"I-i'm fine. Banged my shin on a rock. Clumsy me.."
Could this get any worse? He hoped not! Thankfully Abyrath was still sleeping quite soundly... and would hopefully have nothing to gossip or tease about...
"I... um.. er... I could leave so you could.. cover yourself?" His cheeks burned! How glad he was his back was to Yufa! He'd never live this down...

Here she thought she was the most shy person when it came to the baths, but poor Ka'mond seemed to be having a mental breakdown over the entire ordeal. Truth be told, she hated being seen naked, but now that she was actually in the baths she could handle it as long as no one got too close, something she clearly didn't need to worry about with the weyrling.
"My apologies Ka'mond... I too thought no one would be here... I should have called out before coming in." She felt guilty more than anything now; her carelessness had brought them into such an uncomfortable situation. She also felt bad for him injuring himself, but at the same time, injuries were a comfortable topic. "Did you cut yourself, if you don't mind me asking? I am a healer... I could take a look if you want..." As Ka'mond mentioned leaving though, the guilt set back in.
"Oh Ka'mond, please don't leave..." She said quietly, her eyes downcast on the water. "I only came for a place to think. I should be the one to leave..."

Ka'mond ran a hand through his hair, making the damp locks fall to a more normal state. He felt like he had wronged Yufa. He was the gentleman. Last time he'd checked gentlemen didn't stumble upon naked women! His shin throbbed but really it was fine. It was the average bump with a bruise perhaps.
"Yufa, it isn't a woman's job to have to worry if she will be seen in the bath. Its the man who should be aware of possible women. You shouldn't apologize." There was truth in his words, and his back still faced Yufa. The boy was burning with embaressment. But what had happened had happened. He'd just make do.
"I promise I'm fine Yufa. Thank you. I simplely found a rock and it will at most leave a bruise. I don't even think it broke the skin. It surprised me..."
Abyrath stirred again, woken by the sudden shock and emotion and then the pain in Hers mind.
Mine? Are you ok? Where... What are you doing?
Ka'mond visiblely flinched as his bonded's voice entered his mind. He had hoped she'd stay asleep... She'd never let this one go...
"I won't leave if you don't want me to. I thought it might make you more comfortable."

"Such things happen in the Weyr Ka'mond. It cannot always be helped." She replied softly. Sure, she wasn't entirely comfortable sharing her bath with anyone, much less a man, but she could tolerate it if the situation arose. Not to mention, Ka'mond was being so thoughtful and keeping his distance that she truly didn't feel too uncomfortable at all. She smiled softly and settled into the water, scooping up a handful of sweetsand to begin washing herself. After a moment her smile faltered however.
"Ka'mond... May I... May I ask you something?" Her voice was quiet, barely more than a whisper. She still didn't know if she should mention it at all. She needed to talk to someone about it though... it was weighing on her chest too much not to. Of all people you would ask a weakling like him? Really mine, you shame me.

Ka'mond felt himself relax as Yufa seemed or atleast sounded ok. Good. He hadn't offended her, or if he had she hid it well. He paused as she asked a question. Something seemed to bother her... And she was choosing him to vent to? This didn't bother the boy at all. Atleast it meant he had a friend!
"W-what is the matter? I'm open to anything you have to say."
Good Lord! If Abyrath had heard Braymoth's comment she could certainly have shown that Garnet a thing or two about blood or atleast an offended and ticked amethyst!

“I…” Gossip was so improper! A real lady didn’t go spreading rumors about, this was so wrong! Yet, she needed a second opinion, she needed to know what to do. Braymoth hadn’t been any help... he had been so gleeful about the possibilities that such a rumor could imply. No, she needed someone calmer, someone who didn’t enjoy blood and chaos, someone who could see it from a normal perspective.
“Please think no less of me for… for gossiping. But I simply do not know where else to turn.” She paused, running a hand through her hair in thought. “I overheard the infirmary aides speaking of… terrible things Ka’mond. We keep a number of dangerous plants in the infirmary. Mixed certain ways, the plants can help heal wounds… mixed other ways… there could be poisons… toxins…” She shifted nervously, unable to look at him as she spoke. “Lady Inali, the Weyrwoman before Iirla… they say she was poisoned once… what if someone plans to do the same again?” Her voice was barely more than a whisper as she spoke. She worried for many, their own weyrleaders, the rebels, her friends and family. What if something bad was in the works?

Ka'mind felt a shiver creep down his spine, icey, bony fingers tracing the ridge of his back. "Toxins? You mean as in...? Oh.. oh..." Ka'mond closed hid eyes, thinking fast of a way to comfort both himself and Yufa.
"I-its good to get things like this off of your chest. I'm positive this would eat anyone's thoughts alive.."
Come on! Think! Don't sit and blabber..
"I would think, this being a serious concern, any action and perhaps overreaction may be nessessary. Better to be safe than sorry.. I'd say would be my opinion... Who do we-you... warn?"
Ka'mond took slight comfort in Yufa only able to see his back, and not hid reddening face. This was utterly embaressing! But.. better than other time perhaps..
"Would Braymoth be of any help? He's strong and.. aware of things.. couldn't he keep an eye out?"
Braymoth?! Mine! What are you doing??! You're with Yufa aren't you?
Abyrath's voice began as a whine then changed to a more shrill, sing-songy tone. Oh! What trouble had Ka'mond stumbled into now?
"I'll help you in whatever way I can. That's whay friends are for Yufa."
Those words tasted so good! Friends? Friends! Yes. Yufa was most definitely a friend...

“Overreaction could cause pass panic…” She replied. It was panic that she was worried about. No group was harder to control than one anxious with worry and fear. Shards, she had enough trouble dealing with the scared family members of injured patients! Imagine a whole Weyr full of panicking men and women! It could be the distraction the Rebellion needed to slip in and cause chaos.
“Braymoth…” She shouldn’t talk ill of her own dragon, it just wasn’t right. And yet, she couldn’t not answer his question. She didn’t want to be rude. “You saw how Braymoth is… through Abyrath’s eyes, didn’t you? No matter the outcome he will enjoy it…” Her beloved, chaotic garnet… He loved misery and pain.
She smiled softly as Ka’mond claimed her as a friend. It was endearing for sure. She hadn’t thought she had done anything to gain such a friendship, but it made her happy nonetheless.
